As with any MMORPG, New World relies heavily on its weaponry to drive the game forward.
Players need to craft or find weapons in order to progress in both the story and towards the end game. Also, weapons are required to find recipes for additional content in the game. Mini-bosses and traditional bosses hold many of these recipes and players need some solid weapons in their hands to take them down. One weapon that many players will crave early on in New World’s life cycle is the Waning Crescent Fire Staff.
The Fire Staff is one of three magical weapons in New World, with the Life Staff and Ice Gauntlets being the other two. In the early game, there’s perhaps no stronger weapon class than the Fire Staff, making the Waning Crescent variant that much more sought-after.
While players are busy claiming their Twitch Drops for New World or trying to find their favorite streamer on the server, they can also attempt to craft the Waning Crescent Fire Staff in New World.
Crafting the Waning Crescent Fire Staff in New World
To start, you’ll need to know how to physically craft the Waning Crescent Fire Staff. The ingredients required are fairly advanced, so you’ll need to be decently far in the game and have your skills leveled up or a ton of gold on hand. The recipe for the staff is as follows:
- 1 Fire Crystal Core
- 2 Scalecloth
- 4 Barbvine
- 5 Asmodeum
- 15 Glittering Ebony
- 20 Fire Quintessence
There’s a mix of alchemy and general items in this recipe and you’ll have to be diligent when looking for all of them. If you go to a town Auction House you might get lucky and find some of the materials needed but your safest bet is leveling up your individual skills.
Of course, you can’t simply craft the Waning Crescent Fire Staff just with the ingredients. You actually need to learn the recipe in New World first. To do this, you’re forced to find it through random luck out in the world of Aeternum.
You can find the recipe through either random chest loot or a drop by a creature. You can also once again try any town’s Auction House but this will be costly and also ineffective, as other players could buy the recipe or it won’t be for sale at all.
Once you have the recipe, though, you’ll be able to craft one of New World’s best early-mid game weapons, especially if you’re going for a mage build.
