MultiVersus Was Top-Selling Game In July 2022

After taking over the world upon release, Warner Bros’ Games (WB Games) crossover fighting game, MultiVersus, has accomplished many feats despite being a title in open beta. The game’s adored for various aspects, including its fan-favorite-featured characters, dynamic combat, and wacky cosmetics. As a result, the game’s amassed an astounding amount of players in the past few months since its public release.

On 22nd August 2022, WB Games announced that MultiVersus surpassed twenty million players since its open beta launched last July 26. This accomplishment is massive, considering the game reached those numbers within less than a month. With MultiVersus Season 1 debuting only a few days ago on 15th August 2022, it’s arguably and undoubtedly sure the game will smash more records if it continues its meteoric rise.

How Did MultiVersus Surpass 20 Million Players In A Month?

Of course, with WB Games overseeing the development of the game and the fact it contained characters from all the universes, the monolith of a company owned, being the talk of the party was unavoidable.

MultiVersus was suitable for various gaming platforms (PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, and PC) and ran on the lowest end of computers without much trouble.

Not only that, it’s free-to-play and doesn’t completely take over players’ storage.

For those who’ve never played a fighting game, MultiVersus held straightforward fundamentals with such an in-depth tutorial system, making gameplay all the more comfortable and easy to learn. 

The gameplay’s dynamic and nuanced of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and although somewhat unbalanced, there’s active development and patch fixes to ease these issues.

Overall, MultiVersus ticked various boxes a newcomer and avid fighting game enthusiast would enjoy.

It’s not hard to assume MultiVersus won’t continue to prosper, especially with all the upcoming patches, cosmetics, characters, and features debuting soon. 

Whether or not it continues meteorically rising depends on WB Games, but it’s arguably, undeniable that the game will remain a hot pastime for the coming weeks, if not months.
