MultiVersus' favorite grandson, Morty Smith, is now available in-game following its announcement at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. With his eccentric grandfather, Rick Sanchez, the duo is introduced as the game's first set of fighters in MultiVersus Season 1.
While we're still unclear when Rick is arriving in the game, we know what kind of fighter or brawler, in this case, Morty, will be. This guide details Morty's confirmed moveset, including his perks, attacks, and more in MultiVersus.

All Morty Smith Attacks and Specials in MultiVersus
This brawler has one of the game's best offensive abilities and unique weaponry that can be tricky for enemies to counter. Additionally, he has some incredible cooldown abilities, which can make him a fantastic teammate, especially once you've mastered his quirky moveset we've detailed below:
Standard Attacks:
- Aw Geez, Snakes!: Morty will fire a laser shot at an active grenade that explodes on contact. Should Morty not have a grenade out, he'll launch a snake projectile at enemies. This snake can split into two projectiles, one attacking vertically and the other horizontally, following a delay. Upon cooldown, he'll fire a standard laser shot which he can then perform a combo from this attack which, if he hits an enemy, will pull him closer to them.
- Unresolved Anger Issues: Pummeling enemies with a flurry of attacks using Armothy, which he then hits them using a Hammer Morty to finish the combo.
- Barbarian Instincts: Morty delivers a two-hit-combo with an ax with a Charged Attack.
- Aw Geez, More Snakes!: A variation of the "Aw Geez, Snakes!" attack where he launches snake projectiles upwards, which strike horizontally, but he won't be able to combo with the attack.
- Power of Fire!: Using an elemental ring, Morty attacks enemies, launching them into the air and setting them on fire.
- Plumbus Time!: Morty brings out his Plumbus, which he runs across the arena, knocking down enemies while moving. Holding the input allows Morty to keep the Plumbus out for an extended period as the Plumbus cleanses teammates and inflicts a Weakened state on all enemies.
- Armothy Assault: Morty uses his Armothy to strike down enemies.
Special Attacks:
- It's a Grenade, I Think: Morty launches a grenade attack at enemies, which he can continue doing until he runs out of grenades.
- Power of Earth!: Summoning an earth pillar that can be charged up to increase how far it appears in front of Morty. Then, he can throw a grenade at the pillar, which splits the grenades into two.
- Another Portal?: When gaining some armor, Morty can peer into a portal before stepping inside, which using the same input, can reappear from the portal, which can increase the movement speed of allies' projectiles when remaining on-field.
- Uh, Auto-Pilot?: Calls upon a spacecraft which Morty uses as a platform that moves upwards.
- Temporal Back-Up: Morty produces a savepoint position which he can warp back to after some time to heal himself and his other teammates. Using the same input again leaves an idle grenade at Morty's previous position, and should a teammate be rung out when the savepoint remains active, they'll warp to Morty. The ground and aerial variations are the same for this attack.
Passive Abilities:
- Sci-fi Explosive Technology: Morty's attacks which use grenades, will explode upon contact once thrown. However, should he crossover with another teammate, he'll hand them an idle grenade which also grants them Gray Health and can launch this grenade upon their next attack. Morty's cooldown begins after he gives teammates the grenade.
