The exact reason for the Monster Hunter Now Network Error 6-4 has not officially been provided by the developers. However, it does appear to occur most often for those who try to use GPS spoofing software to sit at home and hunt monsters all across the globe.

It does, however, occur for players who do not use GPS spoofing software as well, with no specific explanation given as to why. When this happens, monsters around you can despawn, items do not work, and you can't add friends or join a hunting party. If you get the error during a hunt, you will receive a message saying, "The monster seems to have left this place."

Clearly, players on Android and iOS will want to fix this issue as soon as possible!

First up, if you are using GPS spoofing software on your mobile device, uninstall it and restart your phone. This is the main cause of the Network Error 6-4.

We've also found that without any of this software on our mobile devices, we still receive the error from time to time. From personal experience, I've seen disabling Battery Saver mode lighten the issue. To disable it, follow the steps below.

  • Launch Monster Hunter Now.
  • Tap on your Hunter Profile.
  • Tap on Settings.
  • Untick the box next to the Battery Saver option.

Alternative solutions to fix the Network Error 6-4 in Monster Hunter Now include resetting your router if you are using a WiFi connection, uninstalling and reinstalling the game from an official source (don't use an APK file on Android, for example), and checking your available mobile data. You can also turn your GPS on your phone off, wait five minutes, and then turn it on again.

If all else fails, you can contact Niantic Customer Support to get official help from the developers. Lastly, we suggest checking the Monster Hunter Now server status.
