It’s only been a few days since Technoblade passed away, and his death sent ripples across the Minecraft community. The internet personality died on 30th July 2022, aged 23 years, following a long battle with cancer. However, as many fans grappled with the news of Technoblade's untimely death, Minecraft developers Mojang rose to honor the late YouTube star in the best way possible. Accordingly, the newest Minecraft update saw Technoblade’s signature avatar (a pig with a golden crown) featured at the top-right terrace over the cave Alex and Steve exit.

Mojang also expressed their sentiments in a Tweet on 1st July 2022, stating, “We have been trying to find the words, but all of us here at Minecraft are heartbroken over the loss of Technoblade. He meant so much to our community and brought so much joy.” Indeed, he did.

Many other personalities, including fellow friends: TommyInnit, Wilbursoot, and GeorgeNotFound, have also mourned the YouTuber’s death on Twitter. Tommy called Technoblade “a f**king legend” and explained how thankful he was to have met the late YouTuber.

Wilbur shared a heartwarming capture of his time with Technoblade, writing, "So long, blood god. No-one could do it like you. I miss you everyday (sic)." Similarly, George expressed how lucky he felt for spending time with Technoblade before his death and celebrated his strength and positivity despite facing cancer.

While these are just a few words from only a small group of people, this sentiment resonates with what several thousand have said about Technoblade since his passing. The Minecraft community even trended the words, “F**k Cancer,” wishing his death never came to be earlier this week.

Technoblade’s death was announced through a six-and-a-half-minute video on his YouTube channel, uploaded by his father, who also read the star's final letter to the community. As a result, Technoblade’s legacy as a creator and icon in the Minecraft community will forever be remembered.

Mojang’s initiative of putting Technoblade’s iconic avatar in Minecraft’s launch art celebrates the legacy the YouTuber left behind. So as the world slowly comes to terms with his death, the emptiness of his departure only starts to become clearer.

Technoblade’s parents have launched a merchandise store to raise funds to help their family with the passing, grow awareness, and support cancer research to help others with the same illness. Rest in peace, Technoblade. Your legacy will not be forgotten.
