How To Find All Elemental Rods In Marvel's Midnight Suns

Marvel's Midnight Suns feature a compelling story involving the Hunter and Lilith, in which allies band together to assist them in defeating her. Other prominent narratives are highlighted throughout the game, with one centered around Agatha Harkness and Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.

This alliance between the witches takes center stage in one of the game's first story missions in which you need to locate elemental rods to activate Agatha's Altar. Here's how to find them and use them in Midnight Suns.

All Elemental Rod Locations In Midnight Suns

The elemental rods are essential quest items for one of the game’s earliest story missions, Agatha’s Altar, in which the Hunter learns more about The Blood race and relationships between Agatha Harkness and Wanda Maximoff.

Located on the premises of the Abbey in the Whispering Wood, you must obtain four elemental rods to progress this questline further. When visiting the Elemental Altar, there are four pillars, each corresponding to the elemental rod needed, which activates her altar and unlocks a Trial.

We’ve detailed below where to find all four elemental rods and the Elemental Altar in Midnight Suns.

Fire Elemental Rod Location:

The first rod you can find once you’ve settled at the Abbey, you can see this rod alongside a few other collectibles in a chapel-like room at the end of the building. From the Hunter’s quarters, head towards the barracks until you’ve reached a “dead end” before going left or right; depending on where you came from, the rod rests on a pedestal.

Water Elemental Rod Location:

The water elemental rod, like the fire ord, can also be found relatively early in the game as you’ll need to head out to The Grotto. Located in the pool area, you can come back for a relaxing swim; below the bridge is a gate and the water rod beside it.

Earth Elemental Rod Location:

The next elemental rod can be tracked down somewhere at the Hunter’s Folly area; however, you’ll need to progress with Agatha’s questline until you’ve obtained the first Word of Power. You can use this ability to break down the tomb’s doors to reach the tomb and find the rod across from the tomb.

Air Elemental Rod Location:

The final elemental rod is found not far from the Elemental Altar, hence why we’ve placed this last, as you can take all rods and place them at each corresponding pillar. From the altar, follow a pathway on the right side towards Whispering Wood.

Using the staircase, continue along the pathway before turning left at the bottom and follow the pathway until its end. There’s a pedestal around this area where the air elemental rod can be found before making your way back to the altar to complete the mission.

At the Elemental Altar, place the rods in the following order: water, air, earth, and fire, which activates her altar, and a Moon Seal will be awarded to you. Additionally, you can find a Masterwork painting, Wanda and Caretaker journal pages, and Tarot cards for Domino, Death, and She-Hulk.
