Deadpool & Wolverine Film Causes Delisted Deadpool Videogame Prices To Skyrocket

It’s been a pretty big week for Marvel. Their Overwatch-inspired Marvel Rivals’ closed beta began, Deadpool vs Wolverine opened as the highest grossing R-rated movie ever in the US, and Robert Downey Jr announced his return to the MCU as Dr Doom. Man they’re gonna be rinsing him til he’s 90. 

And thanks to all that buzz… An old Deadpool game has become one of the hottest collectors items in gaming. 

2013’s Deadpool is the only stand-alone video game for the character, and copies of it are now being listed on eBay for silly money.

Here in the UK, one sealed PS4 copy has 16 bids and is up to £142… which in all honesty is ridiculous. But if you head over to our cousins in the grand old US of A, some SGC graded copies are going for almost $300… with someone selling this 9.8 rated one for TWO AND A HALF GRAND.

Now I get that Marvel fans can be quite excitable with this kind of thing, but I dunno. If it’s a choice between an old game and two months rent, I know which one I’m choosing. And yeah, I know there’s retro games that go for way more money, but that’s a pretty impressive price for a game on the PlayStation 4.

That being said, it’s also not too surprising considering the absolute marketing powerhouse behind Deadpool and Wolverine - because damn have Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman been busy boys. They’re every eating hot chicken wings, and going on chicken shop dates. And it doesn’t all involve chicken too. Both are now playable characters in Fortnite and we’ve also got the cheekiest Xbox controller ever created.

Either way, you likely don’t think a 6/10 game from 2013 is worth that kind of money, especially when you can get a free 7-day trial of our GINX Plus membership without paying a single penny.
