Is Last Epoch Blast Rain Marksman Build Good in Cycle 1?
The Blast Rain Marksman build is a brilliant choice for players looking for a fast and "explosive" based damage dealer and can effectively carry you all the way through to end-game activities such as Arenas and the Monolith of Fate. The build is easily going to withstand the test of time in cycle 1 (season 1) and can easily hold its own as one of the top-rated builds in the entire game.
How To Play Blast Rain Marksman Build in Last Epoch
The Blast Rain marksman utilizes the Reign of Winter bow to launch Explosive Traps in the air coupled with the Blast Rain node, which triggers a huge and explosive rain of Cold projectiles. But where the real damage comes in is by proccing an insane amount of Detonating Arrows with Explosive Trap through the Arrow Traps Node.
When these two damage-dealing methods are used in succession, you can essentially zip around the battlefield, dropping waves of arrows, cold projectiles, and detonating arrows behind you, which can easily melt through waves of enemies with ease.
The Reign of Winter bow also is used to get even more procs in the form of Icicles. This Marksman also has incredible mobility and utility thanks to Shift, Smoke Bomb, Shurikens, and Decoy.
Finally, it's worth noting that this build very strictly requires the use of the Reign of Winter bow, which can be obtained by defeating Heorot in the Age of Winter Monolith Timeline. With all these abilities and the unique bow together, the Blast Rain Marksman build is a crowd-melter and is also considered one of the best farming builds in the game's current meta.

Last Epoch Blast Rain Marksman Passives
For the Blast Rain Marksman build, we're going to invest 34 passive skill points into the base class, 61 into the Marksman Mastery, 13 into Bladedancer, and finally, 5 points into the Falconer which should round out your build as you reach level 100.
You'll want to use points on things like Raptors wings and to unlock Explosive Trap, and Sapping Strikes to sustain your Mana by manually using Detonating Arrow, as well as Draining Arrows and Perfect Aim which are crucial for sustain. Then use Sharpshooter and Death from Afar to boost your Damage significantly.
Finally, Grab Ethereal Arrows for the maximum Mana and Mana Regen it provides, and invest a couple of Points into Pursuit for the extra Movement Speed. The rest of the points you can dump into any extra passives that grant extra damage, mana regen, or movement speed, but avoid any tanky or defensive passives since the build focuses on outmaneuvering your opponents as you dish out damage.
Last Epoch Blast Rain Marksman Stats Goals
As previously mentioned, the Blast Rain Marksman build focuses on movement speed for maneuverability, as well as a high Mana pool to spam your Explosive Traps and Detonating Arrows, as well as constant use of Shift and Smoke Bomb to increase your positional advantage and decrease your enemies. So to account for these priorities, below is a list of the stats you should aim towards as you use the Blast Rain Marksman build:
- All Resistances Capped
- Critical Strike Avoidance Capped
- Endurance Capped
- 400+ Maximum Mana
- 350%+ Critical Strike Multiplier
- 70% - 90%+ Movement Speed
- 2000 - 3000 Health
- 30% - 45%+ Armour
- 100+ Dexterity
- 100% Glancing Blow (with Dusk Shrouds)
You can also increase your defensive stats like Armor to a higher percentage to avoid being as squishy, but since you can easily outpace most enemies, it's only recommended if you're still getting used to the build early on.
Best Blessings & Idols For Blast Rain Marksman
As you approach the endgame and prepare to take on the Monolith of Fate, as well as the Endless and Champion Arenas, you'll need to use both Blessings and Idols to boost your strength. For the Blast Rain Marksman build, here are the Blessings and Idols we recommend:
Last Epoch Blast Rain Marksman Best Blessings:
Blessings provide a permanent buff once you complete a Timeline in the Monolith of Fate. For a full list of them, check out our full Blessings guide here, but for the ones that work best with our build, we recommend using their most powerful form, Empowered Blessings as we've outlined below:
- Grand Survival of Might - A high roll on this Blessing when combined with other skills can easily cap your Critical Strike Avoidance, which is vital for this build.
- Grand Echo of Solarum - Provides a ton of Resistance to survive almost every enemy type.
- Grand Light of the Moon - Getting a high roll on this Blessing substantially increases your maximum Mana.
- Grand Resolve of Grael - Again, provides a ton of Resistance to survive almost every enemy type.
- Grand Body of Obsidian - This Blessing grants a large amount of Flat Armor that helps increase the survivability of the build.
Last Epoch Blast Rain Marksman Best Idols:
- Stout Lagonian Idol - %Health and Resistance related Suffixes
- Large Shadow Idol - %Health and Resistance related Suffixes
- Throne of Ambition Idol - Provides a multiplicative Damage and Armour buff
For this build, any health or damage multiplier Idols are the most recommended since they play on your build's strengths (damage output) and weaknesses (Increasing your health pool). Of course, you should keep an eye out for any other Idols that drop in the world that can be useful for your build, such as ones with extra Resistances.
If you haven't unlocked the Idols yet or need some help in doing so, be sure to check out our guide to how you can unlock Idols, their sizes, and more.
Last Epoch Blast Rain Marksman Items
Choosing the best set of items can be difficult since the game contains thousands of them; however, some work with this build better than others. The only caveat that's restricting is that this build NEEDS the Deadeye's Reign of Winter Legendary Longbow to function.
Once you have the Reign of Winter, here are the set items we recommend for the Blast Rain Marksman build:
Item Slot | BIS Item for Blast Rain Marksman Build |
Ring 1 | Dexterous Sealed Ivory Ring of Sanctuary |
Ring 1 | Dexterous Sealed Opal Ring of Life |
Amulet | Eviscerating Orians Eye of Life |
Boots | Mercurial Mourningfrost of Lucidity |
Chest | Rogues Prism wraps of the Ox |
Head | Dexterous Peak of the Mountain of Defense |
Belt | Rejuvenating Sealed Praetorian Belt of the Ox |
Relic | Eviscerating Sealed Antidote Vial of Insulation |
Gloves | Dexterous Sealed Plate Gauntlets of Frost |
Shield/Offhand | Dexterous Troaka's Teeth of Deflection |
Weapon | Eviscerating Reign of Winter of Lethargy |
Of course, if you find some items (excluding the bow) don't work for your playstyle, feel free to switch it up, as long as it doesn't affect your movement speed since that's a crucial aspect of the build.
