In Rarely Affectionate Quest in Honkai: Star Rail, you will get a sudden message from Clara, and she will ask you to help her in Robot Settlement. She will tell you about the thefts that have been taking place for the past few days, and your job will be to help her track the thieves down.
However, it is such a long quest, and players are confused with the choices they have to make as the endings will differ. Thus, here is a detailed walkthrough guide for Affectionate Part 1 & 2 to help you complete the quest, invite Clara to the party, and earn its rewards.
How To Complete Honkai: Star Rail Rarely Affectionate Quest
Rarely Affectionate Part 1
To start the quest, you will have to go to the location marked on the map above in Robot Settlement in Jarilo-VI to talk to Clara about the mechanical parts and agree to help.
Afterward, go to the marked location to question the witness of theft, complete a series of dialogues, and then look at the clues at marked places.
You will then hear some odd sounds, and when you follow them, you will find a tiny robot that is the thief. After talking to the robot, you will have to battle against it, but after just one attack, it will stop working after begging for mercy.
Clara then feels terrible and takes it to Svarog's base at the location marked on the map, where you will find out that his shell is broken and can't be repaired. You will thus have to find another one by meeting Toby at the location marked on the map.
It will take you to the graveyard, where you will have to fight enemy machines, and finally, it will take you to a robot that was scrapped for erratically accelerating, so Toby will give you his robot shell.
After taking the shell, go back to Clara and repair the robot. However, the system on the chip turns out to be incompatible, causing the robot to behave erratically. You will then have to fight it to prevent any harm, and after that, you will have to complete a few dialogues, and Rarely Affectionate Part 1 will be over.
Rarely Affectionate Part 2
In Rarely Affectionate Part 2, you will have to go to Svarog's Base to check the robot's condition, Pascal. There you will find out that most of the repair is done; however, some of the parts are not back to normal. After a series of dialogues, go to the graveyard with Clara to look for a more suitable shell.
At the graveyard, you will find a robot who will think you are intruders and will attack you. After fighting it, you will obtain the robot shell. Go back to Svarog's Base, and Clara will change Pascal's shell; however, it is still incompatible, and due to repair failure, Pascal will run away. Follow it to the next marked location, and there, you will have to fight it again, as it will think that you are its enemy.
After that, it will run away again, and you need to follow it to the locations marked on the map. After finding Pascal, talk to it and investigate the books in the workshop, and you will get to know its story.
Complete a series of dialogues and go back to Svarog's Base. Clara will ask Svarog why Pascal is still considered a Fragmentum creature. After having a conversation, he will suggest you format Pascal's data and integrate it into the base network. However, its emotional intelligence will vanish, but if Clara uses the other method to try to repair Pascal without formatting its data, it will forget Clara.
Here you will get to decide which way you want them to go and convince the person suggesting otherwise. However, one thing that you need to keep in mind is that the endings are based on your decision; however, in both endings, you will get Flower Made From Scrap Iron, and Clara will join your party.
Go with Clara's Idea
If you go with Clara's idea, a cutscene will appear where you will go to Pascal with Svarog to repair it. After that, it will need maintenance, and after the server resets, you will get No One is Answering, in which Clara will perform a recheck, and Pascal seems to be doing great.
Talk to Pascal to get Flower Made From Scrap Iron, and Clara will join your party.
Go with Svarog's Idea
If you go with Svarog's idea, you will hold Pascal while he is formatted, and after the server resets, you will get Wish You Were Here. In this quest, Clara will message you about the strange happenings in the camp, and when you meet her, you will find her with formatted Pascal and other robots.
She will mention to you that ever since Pascal got integrated with the system, every robot is being happy upon their mention. According to Clara, the integration to the base network shared Pascal's memories with other robots. After completing the dialogue, log into the game again, and you will receive a message from Clara.
She will ask you to go to the Tempering Workshop in Rivet Town to collect robots' gift, and you will get Flower Made From Scrap Iron, and Clara will join your party.
