Should You Pull Jing Yuan's Light Cone Before Dawn?

You should probably pull Jing Yuan's Light Cone Before Dawn if you plan on pulling Jing Yuan. Firstly, it should be stated that characters have a significantly higher priority than Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail. Characters themselves are also not terribly important in this game because there is no competitive PVP that requires certain characters to stay relevant. What this means is that you are free to pull on whatever banners you choose. 

That being said, Jing Yuan's Light Cone is incredibly strong, and here are a few reasons why you may want to consider pulling it. And, if you need a quick reminder, here is the Light Cone's ability:

Before Dawn: Increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 36%. Increases the wearer's Skill and Ultimate DMG by 18%. After the wearer uses their Skill or Ultimate, they gain Somnus Corpus. Upon triggering a follow-up attack, Somnus Corpus will be consumed, and the follow-up attack DMG increases by 48%.

Before Dawn Is Perfect For Jing Yuan

This should be obvious, considering it was made for him in mind, but Before Dawn pushes Jing Yuan's damage to another level. Not only does it boost his base damage, but the damage of his follow-up attacks as well. Unlike Seele's Light Cone, there are several alternatives like Swordplay. However, Before Dawn is too perfect for Jing Yuan to skip out on. 

Before Dawn Is Good For Future Erudition Characters

Before Dawn provides a lot of damage that future Erudition characters will surely be able to take advantage of. Now, there is no guarantee a future Erudition character will release that is reliant on their Skill, Ultimate, and follow-up attacks in the same way that Jing Yuan is, but a character reliant on their Skill and Ultimate isn't too farfetched.
