Ancient Coins in Honkai Star Rail can be found in Jarilo-VI. Players will need to scour Jarilo-VI in order to find these carefully tucked-away items. They can be found via two methods. The first method is to break destructible objects in the environment. Each time an object is destroyed, there is a chance to obtain Ancient Coins as a reward.

The second method is to investigate trash cans in the area. The Trailblazer is no stranger to rifling through trash cans, and there is plenty of incentive to do so. While some of the trash cans will just be empty, there are also those that hold lots of rewards. Players can investigate trash cans for the chance to obtain Ancient Coins. 

How To Use Ancient Coins In Honkai Star Rail

Unfortunately, as rare as they may be, Ancient Coins have little to no use in Honkai Star Rail (at least, at the time of writing this). Obtaining three Ancient Coins will award players with the Twinkly, Winkly achievement, and five Stellar Jade. However, there's nothing more to do with them at this point in the game. 

That being said, the Ancient Coins themselves are labeled as a mission item. This means that there is a likelihood that the Ancient Coins will become part of a mission in the future. Whether this mission is a main quest or a side quest remains to be seen. However, for now, at least, don't bother collecting more than 3 Ancient Coins in order to get the achievement.
