Hogwarts Legacy features an array of powerful spells you can use against enemies in combat. And that's not all. There are also several potions, including popular brews from the Harry Potter series like Felix Felicis (liquid luck) and Polyjuice Potion in Hogwarts Legacy. For example, the latter concoction was first brewed by Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Polyjuice Potion is particularly complex and takes a long time to brew. As a result, it is typically reserved for highly skilled witches and wizards, allowing the drinker to temporarily transform their physical appearance into that of another person. In this regard, it's only natural that players might ask if they can obtain and use the Polyjuice Potion in Hogwarts Legacy. So without further ado, let's find out.
Can You Use Polyjuice Potion in Hogwarts Legacy?
As you know, Polyjuice Potion is one of the confirmed potions featured in Hogwarts Legacy, but the question remains whether you can brew and use it in the game. Well, the answer is technically yes. But not in the way you probably think. While you will use Polyjuice Potion in Hogwarts Legacy, it's restricted to one of the main missions in the game: The Polyjuice Plot, which takes place after The Headmistress Speaks quest. We've detailed this questline below if you are interested (beware: spoilers are ahead!)
Hogwarts Legacy: The Polyjuice Plot Walkthrough
After speaking to the portrait of the former headmistress Niamh Fitzgerald, you will need to find a way to access the Headmaster's office. Once the quest is activated, you'll be instructed to "Speak to Professor Fig in his office." Make your way to the professor's office in his classroom to initiate a dialog with him.
Professor Fig will then give you Polyjuice Potion so you can "look and sound like Professor Black." Then you'll be tasked to find Madam Kogawa, who will help you find the Headmaster's House Elf Scrope and get the password to get past the stone Gargoyle guarding the office. Once you've located Madam Kogawa, she will point you in the direction of Scrope, mucking about in the Great Hall.
Once you've found Scrope, you'll need to get the password. To do this, select the following dialog options: "How dare you question me?" > "It's to do with purity of blood." You'll then learn the password is actually "always pure" in French, translating to "Toujours Pur." Afterward, run and hide as the Polyjuice Potion wears off to complete the quest.
That's everything you need to know about Polyjuice Potion in Hogwarts Legacy. So to be clear, you cannot brew Polyjuice Potion; however, you will encounter it as part of one of the main quests. Interestingly, you can also find one of the other students brewing it in one of the girls' lavatories.
