There were rumours in the past few weeks that retailers around Europe and North America are in a serious shortage of Nintendo Switch in stock, and now it seems that we came to the point where there will actually be no more Switch units to buy.

Earlier this week Nintendo issued a statement to their Japanese consumers, saying that only those who had reserved a Switch console would be receiving their units this week, while shipping to retailers will not happen this week. There are no details if shipping will continue next week.
Portal gamesindustry.biz asked official NA Nintendo representative for a comment, and he told them: "Nintendo Switch hardware is selling out at various retail locations in the U.S., but more systems are on the way. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Switch sales jumped by more than 150% during March when the worldwide lockdown started, but that came with distribution and manufacture problems, which then further led to a shortage of supplies.
Nonetheless, factories in China, where most of the Switch components are being made, are slowly starting to reopen which means we can expect more Switch units coming to retail soon.
