Halo Infinite was one of the biggest gaming releases of 2021, for which developer 343 Industries has done many great things for its latest entry. In what can be described as a superb return to form, the FPS game received high praise for its compelling narrative, stunning graphics, and free-to-play multiplayer mode.
While many players have enjoyed hitting the ground on Zeta Halo, one Halo fan's approbation subsequently went viral on social media. Best of all, the Halo fan in question was none other than acclaimed horror director and legend John Carpenter.
John Carpenter is playing Halo Infinite
John Carpenter is best known for classic horror films such as the Halloween franchise, The Thing and Escape from New York. However, the famed director recently made waves on Twitter after complimenting the game's "beautiful production design" and branding it the "best of the Halo series."
HALO INFINITE is a fun shooter. Immense beautiful production design. Best of the Halo series.

While the review was relatively short and sweet, the horror legend did not mince his words when congratulating the developers for a "fun" game.
Overall, the tweet was met with applause from the broader Halo community, who had asked the director to start a Twitch channel. His review also garnered the attention of a few notable gaming figures, including the development team at 343 Industries.
Halo creative director Frank O'Connor was in disbelief over Carpenter's tweet, replying, "This is not a dream!! Phew. Time to rewatch Prince of Darkness". Followingly, 343 Industries founder Bonnie Ross also thanked the horror director for the positive review.
Wow. Thank you for spending your creative time in our world. And wishing you a happy birthday tomorrow!

To put the cherry on top, SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk responded to Carpenter's tweet, adding that Halo Infinite has a "good campaign", thus revealing what he enjoyed most from the game.

Moreover, this isn't the first time Carpenter has shared his thoughts on games. In 2020, he tweeted how much he enjoyed playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla, with another tweet in 2017 revealing how Destiny 2 is keeping him "out of trouble".
In an interview with Giant Bomb in 2013, Carpenter stated that his son was responsible for getting him video games. "The first game I remember playing obsessively (sic) was Sonic the Hedgehog. Man, it was hard; no checkpoints. I kept dying over and over again. Hand-eye coordination was impaired at the time," Carpenter said.
The famed director continued, saying, "Over the years, I've improved. I have many favourite games. Borderlands 2 is spectacular. I love BioShock, the Dead Space series, The Last of Us."
Indeed, 2022 will see several notable gaming releases guaranteed to keep players occupied and entertained. Therefore, we can only hope to see how the horror legend reacts to a few releases on social media this year.
