While the dust is still settling on ESL Pro League Season 21, it's time for the BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 event to begin, where the best Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports teams in the world will compete for their share of a huge prize pool.

BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 Schedule & Format

The BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 event will begin with a Group Stage, running from 19 to 24 March 2025. In the Group Stage, 16 teams will compete in two groups of eight. The format is double-elimination GSL style, where all matches are BO3. 

The top three teams from each group advance to the Playoffs. We'll see the winners of each group advance directly to the Semifinals, while the runners-up will advance to the Quarterfinals as the High Seeds, and the third-place finishers will advance to the Quarterfinals as the Low Seeds. The rest are eliminated.

While the Group Stage is held at the BLAST Studios venue in Copenhagen, the Playoffs will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, at the MEO Arena. The Playoffs run from 28 to 30 March 2025, featuring a single-elimination bracket format. The Grand Final is BO5, and the rest of the matches are BO3.

There are 16 teams competing at the BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 event. These 16 teams have already been divided into two groups, and the first round of matchups has been revealed.

While Team Spirit won the last big BLAST event, picking up the BLAST Bounty Season 1 crown, it is Team Vitality who is the frontrunner, having won both IEM Katowice 2025 and, most recently, ESL Pro League Season 21.
