It's been over a month since fans got their hands on Halo Infinite multiplayer, and the reaction has been mostly positive. 343 Industries has nailed the gameplay and Halo Infinite’s multiplayer maps, though the progression and microtransactions still need a re-work.
With small yet steady changes to the battle pass progression, 343 has made its intention clear towards making Halo Infinite multiplayer the best possible experience for the players.
The 14th December Halo Infinite multiplayer update added much-demanded playlists and tweaked some challenges though it's not the only update planned before the end of the year. Halo Infinite's next event, Winter Contingency, is all set to begin next week, and here are all the details we know so far.
When does Winter Contingency release?
In its latest community stream, 343 announced the release date of the upcoming Winter Contingency event.
Like the ongoing Fortnite Winterfest 2021, Halo Infinite's Winter Contingency event will run for two weeks, starting on the 21st December 2021 and ending on the 3rd January 2022.
Halo Infinite Winter Contingency rewards
Similar to Halo Infinite's Fracture: Tenrai event, Winter Contingency is a free-for-all event through which players can unlock exclusive rewards.
Players can expect new holiday-themed armour pieces, an armour attachment, weapon coatings, emblems, and more. While 343 has yet to officially reveal the set of rewards that will be unlockable in the Winter Contingency event, the Twitter user "Infinite Leaks" has supposedly leaked the 10 tier rewards.
- Rank 1: Spartan Emblem
- Rank 2: Armor Coating
- Rank 3: Left Shoulderpad
- Rank 4: Right Shoulderpad
- Rank 5: Weapon Coating
- Rank 6: Spartan Backdrop
- Rank 7: Spartan Emblem
- Rank 8: Weapon Coating
- Rank 9: Hip Attachment
- Rank 10: Armor Coating
Some Winter Contingency cosmetic items might also be locked behind a paywall in the game's item shop.
Halo Infinite Winter Contingency event challenges
At the time of this writing, the list of challenges coming to the Winter Contingency event is not known, though we will make sure to update the article as more news is available.
Fans expecting a strenuous grind for the aforementioned rewards shouldn't be worried since 343's Brian Jarrard has confirmed that they are unlockable by completing only daily challenges and not the weekly ones.
