Grub Hides are a useful resource in Grounded that you can use for several purposes on your journey. If you're looking to stock up on Grub Hides, or need one for a recipe and don't know where to look, we're here to help you out. Here’s how to get Grub Hides in Grounded, and where you can find them.
Grub Hide Locations In Grounded
To get a Grub Hide in Grounded, you'll have to first find and kill a Grub. You can find lots of Grubs near the Acorn Tree.
You might be able to find Grubs sparingly in other areas, but they only spawn in abundance near the Acorn Tree. This can make finding them a little frustrating, since you'll always need to make the journey out to this spot, so it's a good idea to get all of the Grubs you think you'll need on one trip. Otherwise, you'll have to come all the way back out to the Acorn Tree to find more. This is similar to Termites, who are only found in their own Dens, and some other enemies.
When looking for Grubs, look for tunnels around the area, as they burrow underground. They aren't found just crawling around like most other opponents in Grounded.
Once you've spotted one of their little burrows, you can use a Shovel to dig up the Grub and kill it. It'll pop right up out of the ground. Once you've killed the Grub, you'll get its hide immediately. Do this for each grub you see to get as many Grub Hides as you can. They're a pretty defenseless enemy, so you won't need to worry about being attacked.
What Are Grub Hides Used For In Grounded?
Grub Hides are a pretty versatile item in Grounded and can be used for a variety of purposes. While some resources are only meant to be used in one item or recipe, that isn't the case for Grub Hides.
Grub Hides are used to make certain armor pieces, to make the Canteen, and to make Brittle Plating. Grub Hides might not be super important early on, but you'll definitely want - and need - to stock up on them eventually.
