In addition to this, HoYoverse has also added Lyney's story quest, The Forgotten Thief, which will let us delve deep into his background, which players are pretty curious about, and you will also get to try him out. Genshin Impact Lyney Story Quest: How To Complete The Forgotten Thief

First of all, you will have to go to the highlighted location on the Fontaine map and talk to Charlotte, and she will give you a photo of a warning letter. After the dialogue is completed, Lyney's story quest, The Forgotten Thief, will begin, and you will be asked to interview him. 

After completing a series of dialogues with him and Charlotte, go to the cemetery at the location marked on the map and look for Jemma. There you will find Lynette, and after talking to her, have a conversation with Baltasar standing right in front of you. After that, speak to Gracia and Juliano, and then you will see Jemma.

Start a dialogue with her, and after another series of talks, wait till 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM the next morning. You can use the in-game clock feature to skip the waiting time quickly. Go to the location marked on the map and talk to Lyney. Then, enter Hotel Debord, located right next to you, and meet Lorenzo. Complete a series of long dialogues and meet Edmondo at the location marked on the map after exiting Hotel Debord. 

Go out of the city and fight against the people following you, and here you will get to try out Lyney. Afterward, go to Jemma and tell her about what happened, and then go to Cesar's workshop at the location marked on the map. For this, you will have to use the underground teleport waypoint to travel to Cesar's workshop, and before entering this domain, you need to choose your team. In addition to this, you will also be able to try out Lyney for free in this domain.

Now, while exploring the domain, the first obstacle would be the puppets, and to solve this puzzle, you will have to attack them when they pop out. Once you solve this, the door in front of you will open, and while exploring forward, you will have to solve the same puppets puzzle, but this time the boxes will keep moving, and in this case, you can use Lyney to attack the puppets.

After solving the puzzle, continue to the next location in the domain and interact with Cesar's Diary, which you will find in the room. After completing a long series of dialogues, fight Lorenzo's Men and continue with another series of dialogues. 

Then, go to the next marked location on the map and explain the situation to Lynette and Jemma. Another series of dialogues will begin, and after that, wait till the next evening (18:00 to 20:00) and go to the next location in Fountain of Lucine to watch Lyney's magic show at the opera house. 

During the show, you will talk to Lynette and Jemma, and you will then be asked to go to a quiet place to learn about the truth. You can do it by following the highlighted path and talking to them and Lyney at the next marked location. 

After another series of dialogues, you will have to exit the opera house, and once you do, a cutscene will begin. After that, you will have to go to the cemetery again and talk to Lyney.
