After many rumours and months in development, miHoYo has finally unveiled Genshin Impact's new character Kaedehara Kazuha, an Anemo ronin living in Liyue, and the first character to be added to from the Inazuma region.
In a teaser trailer, miHoYo also showcased some of his backstory, including a couple interactions between him and Beidou, and also information around his abilities before his launch, so let’s take a look inside this new info along with his release date and banner.
Kaedehara Kazuha: Backstory and abilities

As we covered previously in our 1.6 patch teasers, Kaedehara Kazuha is a 5-star Anemo sword character, having similarities to the Traveler in its Anemo variation.
His origins story goes all the way back to his training years as a ronin in Inazuma, where he was one of the most skilled fighters on the archipelago, however a tragic event made Kazuha head into exile, and he is now one of the most wanted people in the region.
Afterwards, Kazuha became a wanderer spending his time travelling around the world, taking in the sights of mountains and rivers, and listening to the wind which is linked to his abilities and attacks, thanks to his Anemo affinity.

His sword mastery allows him to do up to five rapid strikes with sweating, or two big strikes to the front when charging, while his talents makes him an intrepid character as he can attract, jump very high, and then stab all enemies around.
All this includes a wide variety of elemental effects thanks to his Anemo potential, which increases his DPS drastically while also giving him some efficiency as a support.

Kaedehara Kazuha: Release date and banner
As for his release date, Kazuha will be available starting 29th June, after Klee’s re-run banner “Sparkling Steps” is over.
Kazuha’s banner will be called “Leaves in the Wind”, due to his link to Maple Leafs which can be seen both in his clothes and also when casting his abilities.

So with that said, make sure to get as many Primogems as possible, since Kazuha will only be available for three weeks until the arrival of the 1.7 update and with this, the debut of the Inazuma region.
