When Is It Released?
The Serie A Team of the Season will be released June 2nd at 18:00 BST. This marks the end of the Major League Team of the Seasons.
How Many Players Will Be Included?
If we're going by previous teams, you can expect around 15 Team of the Season cards followed by 3 TOTS Moments cards, celebrating specific performances during the season.
Who Have We Predicted?
Defence
GK Ivan Provedel
Maybe an underwhelming name to start off the list, but Lazio have defied expectations by securing a top three finish in the Serie A. A big part of this is their solid defensive record, which Provedel plays a big part of.
RB Giovanni Di Lorenzo
It’s going to be a very Napoli heavy list this year, but for good reason. They’ve won Serie A by a comfortable margin after nobody even gave them a chance of winning anything. Di Lorenzo is the team captain and led his side throughout the season.
CB Chris Smalling
Nicknamed Smaldini by FIFA fans, Smalling has had a very solid season in the middle of a back 3 for Jose Mourinho’s Roma. Could be a nice card for those English FIFA links.
LB Theo Hernandez
After the amount of promos Hernandez has been involved in this season, we assume this will be a given. Included in the World Cup Team of the Tournament, an inform AND a Team of the Year, expect a TOTS to follow.
Midfield
CM Stanislav Lobotka
He’s not flashy, he probably won’t make a great FUT card and he’ll definitely not be expensive, but you’ll not find a more deserving player in this years Serie A Team of the Season. Signed on the recommendation of club legend Marek Hamsik, Lobotka has controlled every game he’s played, which is a lot considering he hasn’t missed a game for Napoli this season.
CDM Sofyan Amrabat
A Europa Conference League finalist with Fiorentina FC and a World Cup semi finalist with Morocco, Amrabat’s season has been memorable for all the right reasons. A TOTS card would top it all off.
CM Adrien Rabiot
Serie A TOTS is usually filled with Juventus players, but this season we feel like Rabiot is the only deserving squad member. The soon to be free agent bagged 8 goals and 4 assists from midfield during the season.
CM Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
At this point SMS is a FIFA legend. With his first TOTS coming in FIFA 18, 5 years later he’s still going. This time it’s for his 9 goals and 8 assists for high flying Lazio.
Attack
ST Lautaro Martinez
Here’s just a few of the things El Toro has accomplished this season. A World Cup, a Champions League final, Champions League qualification, 6 assists and oh, 21 league goals. Not a bad season at all if you ask us.
ST Victor Osimhen
Just pipping Martinez to the golden boot is Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen. A goal machine himself, Osimhen broke countless records, most notably becoming the highest scoring African in Serie A history. Oh, and he won the league.
LW Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
At 22 years old, Napoli have found themselves an absolute star. Nicknamed Kvaradona after well, you know, Kvaratskhelia’s flair and skill has seen him become a fan favourite in less than a year. Almost certain to get 5 star skills, this could be a FUT favourite.
Bench
LWB Federico Dimarco
Another key part of Inter’s run to the Champions League has been Dimarco’s emergence at left wing back. Taking the place of Ivan Perisic, the Italian has got 5 assists in 10 Champions League games this season.
CB Alessio Romagnoli
With Bremer and Kim Min Jae both getting cards in the Community TOTS there’s not many options for other centre backs. We’ll play it safe and give it to another member of Lazio’s defence.
CM Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa
Another Napoli star, the Cameroon international has had a varied career so path, but it appears he’s found a home in Napoli.
LW Rafael Leão
A player so talented there’s no way he could be left out. Though AC Milan had disappointing season by failing to defend their title, Leão put up 13 goals and 8 assists. At 23, the future is bright for the winger.
ST Paulo Dybala
One of the signings of the season, Dybala left Juventus for Roma in the Summer of 2022 and landed on his feet immediately. Whilst only managing 24 appearances in the league, that didn’t stop him from managing 11 goals and 6 assists.
TOTS Moments
ST Romelu Lukaku
The Belgian striker had one of the performances of the season with his two goals and one assist away to Empoli in the League.
CM Teun Koopmeiners
Atalanta’s midfielder smashed in a hat trick against Torino at home early on in the season. Hopefully a large shooting boost will make him a goal threat from anywhere on the pitch.
