David De Gea has enjoyed a storied career which saw him considered by many as the top goalkeeper in world football for a number of years. While he might not be quite at that level anymore, he's certainly still an important piece at Manchester United, as they attempt to get back to their dominant days.
Branching out from football while still in his active playing career, De Gea has just announced he is launching a new esports team, Rebels Gaming. According to the release, the team is slated to compete on multiple fronts.

The announcement came on 30th November when Rebels Gaming and De Gea tweeted out the hype video for the organization's launch. A post on the team website stated David's passion for video games dates back years and that Rainbow Six Siege is his favoured title.
In addition to R6 Siege, Rebels Gaming will compete in League of Legends as well as Valorant esports. The team will have a gaming compound in Madrid, which will also double as a training/event space. Along with fielding rosters in these esports, Rebels Gaming will also have content creators and streamers on their roster.
