With DreamHack having created festivals all over the world, from San Diego, to Melbourne and Tokyo, it seems DreamHack Winter remains an unmissable event no matter where you're based. Taking place in the picturesque Swedish city of Jönköping, DreamHack Winter saw over 45,000 attendees make their way to the Elmia Congress Center across the weekend.
Saturday's attendence figures were particularly notable, with the venue filled with excited fans ready to catch Monte's victory at the ESL Challenger, try their hand at Modern Warfare 3 at the Monster Energy booth, and even play Doom on a lawnmower. Ticket sales for the whole event increased by 27% over last year's DreamHack Winter.
And attendees were never short of activities. Thank to the festival's partnerships, there were plenty of experiences to get stuck into. Fans could hang out at the Monster Energy booth to sample new Monster flavors, including the Monster Energy Green Zero Sugar where DreamHack Winter attendees were among the first to try it.
Fans also had the chance to meet Monster ambassadors Annie Fuchsia, Emzia, Rosie River, and GeT_RiGhT before jumping in on a Modern Warfare 3 free play session.
Of course, DreamHack's famous LAN party was the unique star of the show, where players could compete in all sorts of gaming activities, tournaments and competitions, or just hang out and play some games with the community.
In the evenings, musical artists took to the main stage to give everyone a taste of Swedish talent, featuring the likes of BELL, Lucianoz, Estraden and DJ Altégo. DreamHack will return to Jönköping once more for DreamHack Summer, set to take place in 2024.
