Australian esports organization Chiefs Esports Club revealed the new partnership with sim-racing team Altus Esports on their website, describing it as “something that has been in the pipeline for a while now and that both parties can’t wait to start to build upon.”
They added: “the partnership will help both brands work collaboratively on projects including grassroots development within the racing genre and joint involvement for future events and activations around Australia. Both brands will share knowledge and contacts to streamline the development of the scene locally and use the combined knowledge to also help consult on other relevant projects.”
Sim-racing has become a rising trend in the esports world and currently fields teams in a number of leagues including League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Rocket League and the partnership makes the official entry for the Chiefs into the sim-racing world.
Team Manager of Altus Esports Simon Feigl discussed the importance of pushing the culture forward with the new partnership, “From a racing perspective, we feel the time is right to really move the needle forward as far as Racing Esports is concerned, and we’re excited to engage with The Chiefs in this new partnership, as they too are racing fans and love the unique features of racing as an esport.”
The news comes less than six months after ICON ESPORTS announced the acquisition of The Chiefs Esports Club, allowing the two parties to become one of the leading esports organizations in the region while continuing to develop a more improved esport ecosystem.
Altus Esports also has a key partnership with Logitech ANZ in which Logitech G became a title sponsor of the company in an attempt to become an even bigger leader in PC and console gaming industry.
