The league was first revealed during WePlay!’s ongoing WeSave! Charity Play event, an online charitable tournament aimed at raising money to fight the global Coronavirus pandemic.
An announcement on WePlay!’s official website followed shortly after the on-stream reveal, giving additional details on the league.
Both Europe and CIS will be divided into two groups of seven. Each will compete in a best-of-three round-robin group stage, with the bottom three teams being eliminated.

The top four from each region will advance to a double-elimination playoff bracket, with the winner taking home the lion’s share of the $250,000 prize pool.
The confirmed teams for this upcoming league include Nigma, Virtus.pro, Na’Vi, Team Secret, and Team Liquid, while two additional spots will be determined with an open qualifier.
WePlay! Esports CEO and managing partner, Oleg Krot, explained his company’s motivation in founding the league: “When you take the best ingredients and combine them in a single product — one always gets the result that will be greatly accepted by the market. Our league combines the best teams, talents, and WePlay! Esports infrastructure, which includes video production, logistics, software tools, media, PR, and other elements. Having found a nice window in the tournament schedule, we happily present our audience with a new league.”
Over the last year, WePlay! have evolved from a small event producer, into one of the premier Dota 2 tournament organizers in the world. Their trademark high production values and unique theming have made recent events, such as WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon, the WePlay! Bukovel Minor, and WeSave! Charity Play, extremely memorable.
Pushka League is poised to be another feather in the cap of this premier esports company. WePlay!’s current tournament and the upcoming league will be broadcast on WePlay!’s Twitch channel.
