Blizzard

I've been playing the Spiritborn class since 9 October 2024, and at the time of writing (early morning of 14 October 2024), I've managed to get roughly 15 Rod of Kepeleke drops. Yes, 15 drops of the Unique Quarterstaff, three of them being Ancestral with one Greater Affix.

If you want a Rod of Kepeleke to blow the Diablo 4 endgame to smithereens on your Spiritborn, then take a seat, Nephalem. We've got you covered with a complete guide, including the farming loop and the details stats for this powerful, Unique item.

Check out the precise instructions on how you can start farming the Rod of Kepeleke in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred quickly and efficiently, including how the farming loop works once you've completed the initial steps.

  • Get to level 60 and then do Tier 20 of The Pit, unlocking Torment 1.
  • Unlock Kurast Undercity.
  • Use a super-powerful Quill Volley build to basically one-shot anything in Torment 1 (Rob2628's Quill Volley Eagle recommended).
  • Farm Helltides and the Tree of Whispers quests inside them.
  • Clear Realmwalkers and get the Seething Opals of Torment that allow for more boss-summoning items to drop.
  • Keep the Seething Opal of Torment buff up at all times.
  • Once you have enough Living Steel to summon Grigoire and enough Malignant Hearts to summon Varshan about seven times, go ahead and kill the Uber bosses to get materials in order to summon Duriel a few times. Mucus-Slick Egg and Shard of Agony required.
  • Kill Duriel and get the Rod of Kepeleke.

It is very likely that Rod of Kepeleke will drop from Duriel in your first five kills. The same goes when killing Andariel. The only two Spiritborn-focused normal Uniques that can drop from these two Uber bosses are Rod of Kepeleke and Sepazontec.

So the trick to keep this loop going is the Tribute of Titans, which you can use in Kurast Undercity runs to get more Boss Summoning materials. You'll get Tribute of Titans to drop while killing Varshan, Grigoire, Duriel, Andariel, Lord Zir, and Beast in the Ice. There's also a chance of these items dropping from other endgame activities.

The loop is: Kill Uber bosses, use Tributes of Titans in Kurast Undercity, and kill Uber bosses again. Throw in some Helltides and their related Whispers quests if you are running low on specific materials.

Soon, you'll be drowning in Rod of Kepeleke and hoping for a x3 Greater Affixes drop to appear.

Rod of Kepeleke Stats & Unique Power in Diablo 4

You'll never want another weapon as the Spiritborn, unless the devs decide to nerf Rod of Kepeleke, which seems unlikely. (Picture: Blizzard)

For most Quill Volley-based builds, and any other Spiritborn build really, the Passive skill Velocity is a must, but you don't really want to spend points on it. Instead, you want it on an item, which is the first nice thing about Rod of Kepeleke, adding 2 to 4 points in Velocity without Masterworking.

While the stats for Rod of Kepeleke are fantastic, it is the weapon's unique power that really seals the deal. You never have to worry about resource management again, as it makes basic skills free to cast and makes your core skills (aka Quill Volley) a basic skill as well. Check out the official Rod of Kepeleke stats and unique power description below.

Rod of Kepeleke Stats Range

  • +[12 - 24] Maximum Resource
  • +[80.0 - 100.0]% Critical Strike Damage
  • +[26.0 - 35.0]% Chance for Core Skills to Hit Twice
  • +[2 - 4] Velocity

Unique Power in Rod of Kepeleke

  • Your Core Skills are now additionally Basic Skills, free to cast, and deal up to 30% less damage based on their cost.
  • When cast at Maximum Vigor, your Core Skills consume all Vigor to return to full damage, cast at their largest Size, and become guaranteed Critical Strikes, with [1.00 - 3.00]%[x] increased Critical Strike Damage for each point of Vigor spent this way.

I can attest to the Rod of Kepeleke being completely overpowered. That's to the point where I got the Spiritborn-focused Mythic Unique called "Nesekem, The Herald" and just instantly put it in my stash.

So there you have it, a fast path to getting the Rod of Kepeleke, the best item you can possibly hope for if you are a Spiritborn. Enjoy, Nephalem, and keep on spamming those Quill Volleys until Blizzard finally nerfs the new class.
