Season of the Haunted marks the return of familiar faces and weapons for Destiny 2 veterans, as both Calus and his Leviathan ship set their sights on the Moon's dormant Darkness Pyramid. That's where you will find the Austringer Hand Cannon, and guardians are probably wondering how to get one, and what the Destiny 2 Austringer god roll looks like.
Deep within their now-derelict corridors, old Menagerie weapons are waiting for dedicated Guardians that partake in the Nightmare Containment public activity and other missions inside the Leviathan.
One of the most sought out weapons is definitely the Austringer Hand Cannon. A powerful 140RPM with incredible versatility and an amazing perk pool, this is one worth grinding for a god roll.
How to Get the Austringer Hand Cannon in Destiny 2
To get your hands on the Austringer you'll need to farm Opulent Keys. If you're unfamiliar with them, they are required to open chests spread out aboard the Leviathan.
Opulent Keys drop from several sources and activities within Calus' ship, including:
- Nightmare Containment activity
- Destination chests
- Haunted Alcove chests
- Seasonal quest reward
You can only carry one Opulent Key at a time, so be sure to find its correspondent chest quickly by using our guide for all six locations.
If you're lucky, the Austringer Hand Cannon will be yours. As a side note, the Menagerie weapons can be crafted after extracting the essence of five guns with Deepsight Resonance, so keep that in mind.
Austringer Hand Cannon god roll
As we've mentioned, the Austringer features an incredible perk pool that makes this 140RPM HC fantastic in both PvE and PvP. On top of this, the gun now features a new Origin Trait.
Origin Traits were introduced just last season and they aim to give weapons an extra bit of distinction between archetype and manufacturer. The Austringer got the To Excess Origin Trait.
- To Excess: Final blows with this weapon while your Super is full grant a bonus to Strength and Discipline for a moderate duration.
As for which perks you want to get on your Austringer, we recommend the following for both PvE and PvP:
- First Column: Outlaw, Snapshot Sights, Triple Tap
- Second Column: Rampage, Range Finder, Frenzy.
Of course, there are different rolls that will serve you more in Crucible or PvE activities. The recommended perks are just a starting point. Now that crafting is a thing, you should experiment with different combinations until you find one that fits.
