Destiny 2 Resilience Stat Will Be Nerfed In Lightfall, Bungie Confirms

Bungie is reducing the max damage reduction of the Resilience stat in Destiny 2 Lightfall.
Destiny 2 Resilience Stat Will Be Nerfed In Lightfall, Bungie Confirms

Bungie is making a lot of changes in Destiny 2 Lightfall. For instance, there will be a new loadout system. Mod customization is also getting overhauled, something that should make buildcrafting more important.

Another big change coming to the game is a major change to the Resilience stat, which Bungie is nerfing in the Lightfall expansion.

What Does Resilience Do In Destiny 2?

In an interview with PC Gamer, Rodney Thompson, design lead on Destiny 2, revealed that the studio is reducing the damage reduction from combatants at Tier 10 from 40% to 30%. However, to even things out, the damage reduction at lower tiers has been balanced so that players don't feel the need to max out their Resilience to get the benefit.

Why is this a big deal? Well for a long time, Resilience has been the go-to stat for buildcrafting in Destiny 2 when compared to other core stats, thanks to the insane 40% damage resistance against combatants. It also made solo runs of end-game activities more manageable.

What Does The Community Think?

With the nerf on the horizon, it's no surprise that some fans are divided and (as you'd expect) many players took to social media to share their frustrations.

It's too early to predict how the Resilience nerf would actually affect players' build who max out that stat in Lightfall. Also, it would be interesting to see how much damage resistance changes at lower tiers.

If it's balanced, players may finally find the incentive to max out other stats in the game for once, although, only time will tell.

Destiny 2 Lightfall arrives on 28th February 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
