Dead by Daylight's Fog Whisperer program is seeing some major changes, according to community insiders, and popular streamer SpookyLoopz has left the Fog Whisperer program as a result. Dead by Daylight publicly announced the Consultation Crew program on 24 May, but it had apparently been going on for a while before the official announcement.
The Consultation Program allows fans to give input on balance changes and other changes in Dead by Daylight "mainly from a balancing perspective," allowing developers to make decisions based on community input.
While Dead by Daylight streamer Hens noted that "[the] Fog Whisperer [program] is all about public relationship[s]" and that the new program is totally unrelated, some say that the new Consultation Crew program undermines the validity of Fog Whisperers, and suggests that their input isn't important.
Dead by Daylight streamer and YouTuber SpookyLoopz left the Fog Whisperer program following the announcement, and discussed his decision in a livestream.
"When I signed up for the Fog Whisperer program, I thought I'd be one step closer than the public to the game and able to give input on changes. I was completely wrong, and I've come to terms with that - I signed on as a brand ambassador, and that was it."
In an analysis video surrounding the changes, Dead by Daylight YouTuber Choy also noted, "With the announcement of the Consultant Program, Behaviour just effectively killed the credibility of the Fog Whisperer program - it is dead. Because they just essentially confirmed that Fog Whisperers, in their eyes, are just advertisers for the game and nothing more. This will obviously make the DBD community look at Fog Whisperers like shills - and at that point, why would you stay in the Fog Whisperer program?"
