Table of Contents
One of Dead by Daylight's original killers, The Legion, is a group of four teenage killers out to kill in The Fog. Their power allows them to move extremely quickly in Frenzy, dashing around the map and inflicting Deep Wounds on survivors. Learning how to play The Legion, especially while you move so rapidly during Feral Frenzy, can be tough.
That's why we have put together this guide to the best Legion builds and perks in the horror game Dead by Daylight. Try out one or more of our loadouts to improve your gameplay as Frank, Julie, Joey, and Susie of the Legion.
The Legion Power And Perks
To pick out the best perks for The Legion, you'll first need to understand their power, and how it works so you can think about how the game's many perks may be able to complement it.
You should also learn more about The Legion's own teachable perks since they come with the killer by default and can be used together to earn Adept Legion.
Let's go over all of The Legion's perks:
Perk: Discordance
- Any Generator within a range of up to 128 meters that is being repaired by two or more Survivors is marked by a yellow aura.
- When the Generator is first highlighted, Discordance triggers a loud noise notification on the Generator.
- After the Generator is no longer within range or is no longer being repaired by two or more Survivors, the aura remains for another 4 seconds.
Perk: Mad Grit
- While carrying a survivor, you suffer no cooldown for missed basic attacks and successfully hitting another Survivor with a basic attack will pause the carried Survivor's wiggle timer for up to 4 seconds.
Perk: Iron Maiden
- You open lockers up to 50% faster.
- Survivors who exit lockers suffer from the Exposed status effect for 15 seconds and their location is revealed for 4 seconds.
Power: Feral Frenzy
The Legion's main power is called Feral Frenzy, which allows this killer to move quickly across the map, chaining hits and gaining speed.
The in-game description reads:
- Trigger Feral Frenzy to run at high speed and chain attacks between multiple Survivors, further increasing their speed and building their power.
- When the Power gauge is full, press the Power button to initiate Feral Frenzy.
- While Feral Frenzy is active, The Legion moves at 5.2 m/s and gains access to additional abilities: Feral Vault and Feral Slash.
- However, The Legion loses the ability to see Scratch Marks and Pools of Blood while in Feral Frenzy.
SPECIAL ABILITY: Feral Vault:
- Press the Interaction button while in Feral Frenzy to perform a swift Feral Vault (0.9 seconds) at any Pallet or Window.
SPECIAL ATTACK: Feral Slash:
- Press the Attack button while in Feral Frenzy to perform a Feral Slash.
Hitting a Survivor with Feral Slash puts them into the Injured State and inflicts the Deep Wound Status Effect. - Additionally, this refills The Legion's Power gauge and all Survivors within the Terror Radius not already afflicted with the Deep Wound Status Effect have their location revealed by Killer Instinct.
- Each successful Feral Slash will further increase The Legion's Movement speed in Feral Frenzy by +0.2 m/s, up to a maximum of +0.8 m/s after four successful Feral Slashes.
- Attacking a Survivor with a fifth Feral Slash will immediately put them into the Dying State and end Feral Frenzy.
- Hitting a Survivor already suffering from the Deep Wound Status Effect or missing a Feral Slash immediately ends Feral Frenzy.
Best Legion Builds In Dead By Daylight
The best Legion builds in Dead by Daylight play off of this killer's ability to attack survivors and keep them injured throughout the match.
With so many perks available in Dead by Daylight, there is not just one build that works well on Legion - there are many choices. Here are just a few of the best.
Beginner Legion Build
When you're getting started out as a new Legion main, it can be hard to figure out what perks to use. That's why we've put together this beginner Legion build using only perks that come with the Legion, or can be found in any killer's Bloodweb.
- Fearmonger
- Whispers
- Spies from the Shadows
- Jolt
Whispers will allow you to find survivors so you can ambush them. When The Legion isn't in Feral Frenzy, they can only use their Basic Attack; that's where Fearmonger comes in, helping you in chase. Spies from the Shadows ensures you never lose a survivor, while Jolt keeps the regression up on generators.
Otzdarva General Legion Build
Otzdarva's General Legion build offers a mix of tracking with Surveillance, generator regression with Jolt and Hex: Ruin, and slowdown with Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance. Because The Legion is able to move so quickly during Feral Frenzy, using a general build like this with varied perks is often optimal.
- Jolt
- Hex: Ruin (The Hag)
- Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist)
- Surveillance (The Pig)
This build is a great choice both for beginners and for veterans since it's a well-rounded generic build that will help you cover any of your weak spots. Whether you're concerned about keeping up the generator regression or you struggle to locate survivors, you'll find that this build helps.
Surveillance Legion Build
Legion is most effective when they can catch multiple survivors in one area at once, stabbing them in rapid succession and gaining speed. That's why this build focuses on finding survivors, whether they're out in the open or trying to repair generators behind your back.
- Whispers
- Surveillance (The Pig)
- Discordance (The Legion)
- Eruption (The Nemesis)
Whispers will ensure you're never in a dead zone, even when Surveillance and Discordance aren't alerting you to survivors' locations. Eruption works well with Surveillance since you'll need to damage generators for both of these perks to work.
What Are The Best Perks For The Legion?
Those are all of the best builds for The Legion, but you still might be wondering which individual perks work best on this killer. After all, creating your own builds can be fun and allow you to try new playstyles.
You can mix and match the following perks to create an incredible build for The Legion:
- Discordance (The Legion)
- Surveillance (The Pig)
- Spies From The Shadows
- Whispers
- Jolt
- Eruption (The Nemesis)
- Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist)
- Hex: Devour Hope (The Hag)
- I'm All Ears (The Ghost Face)
As you put together your build, you should keep in mind The Legion's power and how it works with your perks. You'll want a build that makes sense, with perks that synergize well with one another.
