Disney Dreamlight Valley Adding 4 New Characters Before 2025

The next Disney Dreamlight Valley update has now been given an official release date, and this free addition will be bringing another beloved The Nightmare Before Christmas character into the game right as the holiday season picks up. On top of that, new details and a release date have been confirmed for the second major Expansion Pass DLC to hit Disney Dreamlight Valley. With all parts of A Rift in Time now released, The Storybook Vale is just a few weeks away.

Next Disney Dreamlight Valley Update Brings More Free Content

The next free update for Disney Dreamlight Valley is set to release on December 4, and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas will arrive as part of the "Sew Delightful" update. Sally will also bring new friendship rewards and quests including a date night, quilting, and more.

That same update will bring a new feature known as Floating Islands. These large areas found via the fast travel menu are essentially blank canvases themed after each biome. Players will be able to test designs here more freely without having to un-do their current setup first, and that's not all. The December update also adds 16-degree rotation for furniture, buildings, landscaping items, and more.

2025 Free Updates Roadmap

The Showcase Stream announcing these upcoming updates included the latest roadmaps for new content, and all players can look forward to at least three more free updates in 2025. The Early 2025 update shows Aladdin's hat and Jasmine's circlet, so both characters could be on the way.

The Spring 2025 update features the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, so players could get a whole new realm with the addition of Alice and others. As for Summer 2025, players clamoring to find out what the heck is going on with Skull Rock will finally get some answers.

The Storybook Vale Paid Expansion Roadmap

For players willing to dive into the new paid expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley, the first part of The Storybook Vale will release on November 20, 2024. You'll use the Stardust Port, just like A Rift in Time, and reach the Vale to explore three new biomes.

As you make progress in The Storybook Vale, players will be able to unlock Merida from Brave, Flynn Rider from Tangled, and Hades from Hercules as new villagers. Those three will join Sally as the four new characters before 2024 ends, but they've already got plans for part two of this expansion.

The Storybook Vale will drop a final chapter in Summer 2025 that is confirmed to add two additional characters. One of them is likely to be Maleficent, who will be a key part of this expansion pass, but we don't yet know who could else could be featured in part two. Players who play The Storybook Vale before November 30 will also receive a free collection of items for the new Keeper of Lore Outfit.
