Luminosity release full CS:GO roster

A report from Brazilian website Mais Esports earlier today had suggested the roster would be dropped by the organisation, with no plans to obtain a replacement in the near future.

This news comes as the organisation crashed out of the DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019 North America Open Qualifier in the round of sixteen to American mix team Stay Frosty. LG also failed to progress to the StarLadder Berlin Major New Challenger Stage after being eliminated by FURIA in the Americas Minor in June.

The roster attended multiple online qualifiers but after falling out of the HLTV top 30 in February, failed to make it back into it throughout 2019. With the rise of FURIA as the new Brazilian hope leaving their mark on the top teams, LG's current roster failed to even make a dent at a far lower level.

Luminosity entered CS:GO in 2015 by obtaining ex-Keyd Stars, who would go on to win the MLG Columbus 2016 Major. Following this success, the team led by Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo left for SK Gaming mid-2016 in a haze of contract controversy.

Lucas "LUCAS1' Teles left his twin brother Henrique "HEN1" Teles on LG to join the former LG core on MIBR earlier this month on loan. While LUCAS1 remains on loan with them, HEN1 had previously been benched and said to be a 'restricted free agent'. MIBR in return loaned Joao "felps" Vasconcellos to the fellow Brazilian squad.

Recently, Luminosity Gaming's parent company Enthusiast Gaming had acquired a non-controlling interest in the Overwatch League's Vancouver Titans. With franchise spots in the Call of Duty League being introduced, it is possible the organisation will seek to be one of the founding teams by investing $25 million to acquire their spot.
