Following the signing of Alexandre "xms" Forté and return of Jérémy "jeyN" Nguyen by Team Heretics to their CS:GO roster, kicked in-game leader David "davidp" Prins has seemingly seized the MDL spot held by the team.

Within 24 hours after the removal of davidp and David "devoduvek" Dobrosavljević, all other Heretics players were removed and davidp looked set to keep it for himself ahead of Season 33.
Due to davidp being the leader of the Team Heretics ESEA roster, it appears that him and devoduvek have launched a coup, removing the entirety of Team Heretics from the roster. This could mean that Team Heretics will be without a league spot for Season 33. pic.twitter.com/WDORUrzOYF

While this appeared initially to be suspect, the action seems to be allowed under ESEA rules.
65% of the players who played 30% or more of the previous season would have to vote to return the roster, however, davidp and devoduvek would be the only valid voters alongside Bryan "Maka" Canda under this criteria.
In his own statement, davidp explained that he is in his rights to keep the MDL spot and it seems unlikely he will be handing it back to the Heretics organisation.
I'll explain myself now.

After we were out of Heretics with devoduvek, i informed myself about how is it going, i asked admins and read the rules properly.
I'm in my rights to keep the MDL spot and i have an opportunity to make something with it and i'll.

The Spanish organisation had signed former G2 player Lucas "Lucky" Chastang and two-time Major winner Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey in October following its acquisition of the FrenchFrogs lineup earlier in 2019.
Losing the MDL spot would be a huge blow for Heretics that may have to choose whether keeping their French lineup is worth it without the prospect of ESL Pro League on the horizon.
Currently sat at #47 in the HLTV ranking and #30 in ESL's own ranking, the team is unlikely to receive any direct invitations to top tier LAN events and will need to compete in numerous online leagues to climb in the meantime without MDL.
Heretics is yet to issue any statement regarding the issue, but this article will be amended if the organisation makes comment.
