North won the last DreamHack event in Sweden last year, taking the trophy at DreamHack Masters Stockholm, earning the organisation an invitation to Malmö.
The former in-game leader and MVP of the previously successful North squad's Swedish success Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen will also be in attendance following OpTic Gaming's first ever LAN victory at DreamHack Open Summer.
DreamHack circuit changes meant winners of DreamHack Opens could earn a spot at the next Masters tourney. This was announced before the 2020 ESL Pro Circuit made the link official going forward.

StarLadder Berlin Major champions Astralis, Team Liquid, NRG and ENCE will also be in Sweden looking to claim titles. mousesports and Team Envy are the Europe and North America representatives from their respective Closed Qualifiers, joining Oceania's Grayhound Gaming and China's TYLOO in the main event.
Many familiar faces will be present in Malmö, with some changes more familiar than others. Fnatic recently reacquired Robin "flusha" Rönnquist and Maikil "Golden" Selim, with both of these former players leaving for Cloud9. While flusha was released by the organisation, Golden is back in a Swedish roster on loan.

Other teams that will debut new lineups include both French rosters in G2 Esports and Team Vitality. G2 will be without Richard "shox" Papillon for the GG.BET Beijing Qualifier and ESL One New York, with Fabian "kioShiMa" Fiey standing in for those events. Lucas "Lucky" Chastang is also set to depart as the organisation supposedly looks to add CR4ZY players Nemanja "nexa" IsakoviÄ and Nemanja "huNter-" KovaÄ in time for Malmö.
Vitality are rumoured to be playing with shox going forward following the sudden benching of founding player and initial IGL Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt. The news came after the conclusion of the StarLadder Berlin Major this month, with Vitality stating that 'the team has shown amazing results but a change was needed as the squad in its current form, with 2 in-game leaders, reached its limits.'
