With the breaking news of an upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, questions abound as we ponder the details of the leaked teaser posted on Twitter by Activision. Part of this trailer showcased a momentary glimpse of the Task Force 141 logo that has fans speculating about the return of the legendary group of individuals.
But what is Task Force 141? and what can we expect from Modern Warfare 2 if it involves them? Well, we have the answers for you. Today we'll go over everything you need to know about Task Force 141.
What is Task Force 141 - COD Modern Warfare 2
If you've played any of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare titles, the moniker of Task Force 141 or "The One-Four-One" should sound pretty familiar to you. It is a special operations group of eighty-five known members belonging to the special operations forces of Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Russian Loyalists.
While the total number of members is unknown, we know from the Modern Warfare series the Taskforce had its main goal being that of neutralizing the threat of Vladimir Makarov, the leader of an Ultranationalist terrorist cell.

After the mission was finally completed after bloody losses and uplifting victories. We see the group return for more in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 acting as a reboot of the series in the modern day and age. And it seems they will be returning to Modern Warfare 2.
Who are the members of Task Force 141
The core members we see in the original Modern Warfare Trilogy feature Captain John Price, Captain John "Soap" MacTavish, Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley, Sergeant Gary "Roach" Sanderson, Joseph Allen, as well as Lieutenant General Shepherd.
The One-Four-One are the main actors in the first three games, and the first game (Call of Duty:4 Modern Warfare) is where the One-four-ones goals get redirected to one simple objective, to take out Vladimir Makarov.
This then leads into the second game where Price is thought to be dead after the events of the mission "Operation Kingfish". Soap and Roach continue the search for Makarov and it leads them to a prisoner with information about him, but to their surprise, the prisoner was captain Price who was being held hostage in their Russian Gulag.
After rescuing him, they continue the mission to find Makarov, but Soap and Price are betrayed by Lieutenant General Shepherd and forced to kill him to save their own lives. After doing so, they are now officially on their own leading to the events of Modern Warfare 3.
This game sees the men rescue the Russian president to clear their names and finally find and put an end to Vladimir Makarov. After this, however, Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019), reboots the series and at the end of the game, brings back the original characters from the One-Four-One and is likely to jump right back into the action in the upcoming Modern Warfare 2.
That's everything you need to know about the current state of Task Force 141 and what we can expect moving forward into Modern Warfare 2.
