Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta Dates And Times Revealed

Call of Duty players can look forward to experiencing the latest installment to the beloved FPS game franchise, Modern Warfare 2 (2022), ahead of the game's launch on 28th October. The Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta is set to feature a robust multiplayer experience, stretching beyond the typical 6v6 COD gameplay players know and love.

There are two weekends dedicated to the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta, during which players can enjoy the impressive beta content and reap its in-game rewards. Here's everything to know about the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta, including the dates and times for the PlayStation Exclusive and Crossplay Beta weekends. 

Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta Dates And Times

All players with Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta codes can enjoy the in-game content and rewards during the two beta weekends outlined below; the code will be linked to players' Activision accounts and allow them to access the game on any platform.

PlayStation Exclusive Weekend

The first Beta weekend will become available exclusively to PlayStation 4 and 5 console players and runs from Friday, 16th September 2022 at 10 a.m. PT | 1 p.m. ET | 5 p.m. GMT until Tuesday, 20th September 2022 at the same time.

• Early Access - 16th to 17th September 2022
• Open Beta - 18th to 20th September 2022

Only players who pre-ordered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) on PlayStation 4 or 5 can play the game during the Early Access window. The same benefit applies to players who received a Beta code.

The Open Beta window will be accessible to all players regardless of whether they pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 or not. Additionally, all players participating in the Open Beta can participate in in-game challenges and unlock rewards available in the game.

Crossplay Beta Weekend

The second Beta weekend will be accessible to all players, regardless of platform; this will run from Thursday, 22nd September 2022 at 10 a.m. PT | 1 p.m. ET | 5 p.m. GMT until Monday, 26th September 2022 at the same time.

Crossplay will be activated, allowing players to party with friends and the broader Call of Duty community, regardless of their hardware specifications.

• Early Access (Xbox, PC) - 22nd to 23rd September 2022
• Open Beta (PlayStation) - 22nd to 26th September 2022
• Open Beta (Xbox, PC) - 24th to 26th September 2022

Again, only players who pre-ordered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) can participate in the Early Access portion of the Crossplay Beta window; however, this time, it will be open to players on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or PC.

Xbox Live Gold is required for Xbox players, and PC players must have a Battle.net or Steam account. The remaining portion of the Modern Warfare 2 Crossplay Beta Weekend will become accessible to everyone who hasn't pre-ordered.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) launches on 28th October 2022 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, and Microsoft Windows PC (via Steam or Battle.net).
