These cosmetics were unlocked through challenges and some of them were unlocked by an additional purchase. So the question is, will the vehicle cosmetics carry over into Modern Warfare 3? The answer is yes, Modern Warfare 2 vehicle skins will carry over into Modern Warfare 3 unless that particular vehicle is not available in Modern Warfare 3.

From what we can tell, it seems like the carry-over feature will happen automatically for Modern Warfare 3. That means players won't have to take any extra steps to bring over their vehicle skins from one game to the other. So long as you are using the same account to play Modern Warfare 3, the vehicle skins should carry over.

This includes everything that you have unlocked in terms of vehicle skins. But once again, the restriction is that the vehicle has to be available in Modern Warfare 3. Not all vehicles will appear in the new title, which means that those skins will have to remain in Modern Warfare 2.
