Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is gearing up for Season 2, and ahead of its launch, we’ve gotten a sneak peek at some of the new content on the way. Notably, two new traits are set to join the lineup, and one, in particular, is earning praise from fans for removing Tac Sprint from your operator. Let’s dive into the details and explore why players are so excited for this trait’s arrival in Black Ops 6 Season 2.
Black Ops 6 Players Rejoice as the Slipstream Perk Makes TAC-Sprint Optional
While many are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Season 2 and the new Tomb map in Zombies - which introduces fresh weapons, abilities, multiplayer maps, and a new battle pass - it’s the addition of two new perks that has players buzzing. While Hunter’s Instinct, which highlights the location of the nearest enemy after an elimination, has caught some attention, it’s the second perk, Slipstream, that has truly stolen the spotlight.

The Slipstream perk grants players a boost to their base movement speed but removes Tactical Sprint in the process. Though this might seem like a tradeoff, players have been vocal about their frustrations with Tactical Sprint ever since its introduction in Modern Warfare (2019). Unsurprisingly, fans are thrilled about the chance to add Slipstream to their load-outs in Black Ops 6 permanently.
The community has responded to the perk’s reveal with overwhelming enthusiasm. One player exclaimed, “So this is literally never leaving any of my classes, cool.” Another added, “Shouldn’t be a perk, should just be how the game is normally. REMOVE TAC SPRINT FOREVER.” Similarly, another fan shared, “Great, Tac Sprint is the dumbest thing in modern COD,” while yet another simply said, “I despise Tac Sprint, I gotta try this out.”
It’s worth noting that Slipstream falls under the red perk category, which means players will need to choose between it and other perks like Double Time, Bankroll, Cold Blooded, Guardian, and Quartermaster. While a similar perk, All-Terrain Boots, existed in Modern Warfare 3, it wasn’t widely used. However, given the distinct gameplay of Black Ops 6, there may be a stronger case for Slipstream to shine.
Ultimately, we will have to wait to see how effective and popular this perk will be when Season 2 kicks off. For now, fans are excited, and we are excited. We’ll see you all in Season 2!
