For those of us that like an extra challenge in our online shooters, Ranked Mode pits players of near-equal skill against each other in order to prove their worth and move up the global leaderboards. Ranked has been a staple of Treyarch's Call of Duty since Call of Duty: Vanguard, and players are eager to get stuck in with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
How to Access Ranked Mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Ranked Mode will arrive in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 during Season 1, but not at launch. Instead, Ranked will be available roughly a week later on November 21, 2024. However, players won't be able to jump in straight away. Not unless they already meet certain requirements.
To ensure the competitive angle remains intact, Ranked requires that all participating players have sufficient Multiplayer experience. This means they'll need to achieve the following:
- Earn 50 Wins in Matchmade Multiplayer Games
Wins that players have earned before the launch of Season 1 will count towards this total, so players won't need to start from zero if they've been playing since Black Ops 6 release day. Previously, players needed to hit a Level 55 requirement in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III in order to access Ranked, however that has now been removed.
How Does Ranked Work in Black Ops 6?
Ranked in Black Ops 6 operates a little differently compared to past CoD titles. This time, your Rank is what represents what was previously your Skill Division and Tier. Players will be earning SR (Skill Rating) to work their way through eight Ranks:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Crimson
- Iridescent
- Top 250
SR is earned through winning Ranked matches, and is deducted with losses. The amount you earn is determined by match performance, the margin of victory, and the distance away from your projected Rank. This time, the focus is solely on skill, so the Progressive Rank and Victory Stars system has been removed.
