Assassin's Creed Mirage Launches Oct. 17th On Steam, Achievements Available At Launch

After years of launching their new releases through the Epic Games Store, French publisher Ubisoft has started adding their top-flight gaming releases to Steam. This was confirmed with Assassin's Creed Shadows in its delayed announcement as Ubisoft promised future releases on Day 1 on Steam, and they'll be delving into their back catalog to add existing titles to Steam.

We're already going to see Star Wars Outlaws heading to Steam with the Wild Card DLC in November, and recently, they've finally added Steam Achievements to Assassin's Creed Valhalla. On the subject of Steam Achievements, Ubisoft made yet another related announcement regarding the launch of Assassin's Creed Mirage, which has received its release date.

Aside from the confirmed release date, the critical piece of news regarding Mirage's release is the recent announcement that Steam Achievements will retroactively be available at launch. The publisher confirmed that 50 Achievements will be present in-game at its release; details on these are available on the game's Steam page, which should provide players with some information on their unlock requirements.

Nevertheless, the French publisher held a Q&A session on 10th October 2024, unveiling the release date for Assassin's Creed Mirage, launching on Steam on 17th October 2024. The current entry in the mainline Assassin's Creed series finds players following the journey of Basim Ibn Ishaq in 9th Century Baghdad as they'll be preparing themselves "to walk the paths of shadows" alongside Basim.

A few details regarding its impending release on Steam included its Steam Deck verification, in which the game will be "playable" as launch but will gain its "Verified" status post-launch. Players are also required to have a Ubisoft Connect to play Mirage on Steam, which is a standard requirement for current and future releases.
