Ark Survival Ascended Crystal Locations & Farming Guide

Crystal is one of the most valuable resources within Ark Survival Ascended, and sourcing the asset can be rather inconvenient or vexing, especially if you keep dying. Locating and using the resource is essential to crafting the most useful items in Ark Survival Ascended.

Ark Survival Ascended: Where to Find Crystal 

Crystal can be found in large amounts in the snow biome, which is the most popular place for players to locate and find crystals. However, most players don't enjoy venturing into the snow biome due to their bases and resources being far from this location. 

The snow biome is the most dangerous biome within Ark Survival Ascended due to its low temperature that damages your health. If you're going to be farming Crystal regularly, it's recommended you keep your base and resources nearby; south of the snow biome is often best because you're still nearby. 

Crystal spawns on all mountain peaks in the game, allowing players to quickly hike up the nearest peak to retrieve the crystal. Despite the inconvenience and low quantity of crystal, climbing the peaks won't damage your health as badly as the snow biome. 

Ark Survival Ascended: Best Crystal Farming Spots 

Players who farm Crystal will likely reach their goals faster, leading to better progression and overall stability within the game. To farm crystal, head to these locations:

• Arctic Coast 
• Northeast Mountain
• Volcano
• Red Forest Mountain 

Despite two of these locations being inside the snow biome, players can rapidly farm items. Red Forest Mountain and Volcano are great locations to farm Crystal because they have little environmental threats, unlike the snow biome. 

Generally, the west side of the map spawns and obtains more Crystal deposits. Ensure you bring a metal pickaxe to farm crystal; otherwise, you'll be out of luck; an Ankylosaurus and a flyer will speed up the farming process significantly.

Players who gather cry with a regular stone pickaxe will provide you with smaller yields. Hence, we recommend investing in a metal package to ensure you're gathering the maximum amount of resources.
