One of the most heavily anticipated games of the year, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, launches tomorrow, but is it actually worth picking up? We've collated a bunch of the reviews to find out if Link's latest is one of the best in the series or not.
Kinda Funny: "Tears of the Kingdom is a worthy successor to Breath of the Wild in every way"
VGC: "Tears of the Kingdom is a spectacular sequel that lets your imagination run wild"
IGN: "Tears of the Kingdom is an unfathomable follow-up, expanding a world that already felt full beyond expectation and raising the bar ever higher into the clouds"
RPGSite: "Tears of the Kingdom aims to recontextualize and rebuild around the framework of one of the greatest games of all time."
Gamespot: "Tears of the Kingdom builds on what Breath of the Wild did previously- and with a platform like that to work on, the result can't help but be fantastic. Though with the occasional hiccup in execution, the end result is a game as broad as it is deep, and something that comfortably justifies the six-year wait."
TheGamer: "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a masterpiece that not only equals what came before, it does everything in its power to surpass it."
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to 2017's Breath of the Wild, and follows directly from that title. It uses the world from Breath of the Wild to tell a new story about the rise of Ganondorf, the main villain of the entire Zelda franchise, and was first announced back in 2019, but was delayed from a planned 2022 release to 2023, meaning there's a full six-year gap between Zelda games. To say the hype for this game is big would be quite an understatement.
