Several gigantic mini-bosses roam the wilds of Hyrule and the Sky Islands in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and you may often encounter them while exploring. These are relatively tougher enemies and are a bit challenging to overcome without proper gear, resources, and weapons.
The Battle Talus is one of the most intimidating mini-bosses that you may encounter right after landing on Hyrule. If you're struggling to defeat it, fret not. Here's how to beat Battle Talus in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Defeat Battle Talus in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Battle Talus has a weak point, a rock, which you can find on its shoulder. You can locate it by pressing ZL. Instead of rushing into this battle, I recommend finding a quiet spot nearby and using your bow and a bomb flower to get an early shot. A single shot of an arrow combined with a bomb flower can take out one-fourth of its health, so make good use of it.
After you wake the Battle Talus, the goblins standing atop it will start shooting at you. It's best to clear them out using more bomb flowers. Shoot them in a way that can take more than one goblin at a time. Continue shooting at the Battle Talus' weak point to stagger it. As soon as it's stunned, sprint underneath the boss and use your Ascend ability to climb on top of it and reach its weak point.
Now would be a good time to take out your most powerful melee weapon and start hammering at the Battle Talus's weak point. After you have put in a few shots, it will quickly throw you off its back.
Battle Talus will start throwing rocks at you when you steer away from it. These can kill you in a single shot, so it's best to keep running to avoid them. You can also hide behind a nearby wooden tower to shield yourself from its ranged attacks.
Continue to target its weak point with your bow and rush in to use Ascend and reach its rock heart. You can also use fuse materials like Bokoblin Fangs and Bokoblin Horns to increase the attack power of your bow and melee weapons, respectively.
I would also recommend brewing a Hasty Elixir, which you can use to increase your movement speed and avoid Battle Talus' ranged attacks.
Thankfully, unlike Flux Construct I, Battle Talus doesn't have many maneuvers that you need to watch out for. Make good use of bomb flowers, and use the Ascend ability at the right time, and you should be able to take this boss out rather quickly.
Naturally, there could be more ways to take down Battle Talus, but I found this to be the easiest and the most effective way to do it.
