The new 2.1b update has arrived to League of Legends: Wild Rift, and with this, Riot has announced new changes including balance changes to some champions, items, and most importantly, new additions to the roster.

This time, new champions from Mount Targon have arrived at Wild Rift, seeking to impose their ideals against all those who dare to block their way to divinity.

Next, we will talk about the second new addition to the roster, known for being a powerful support champion endowed with the power of solar fire and who also stands out for her crowd control abilities: Leona, the Radiant Dawn.

• Ultimate - Solar Flare: Summons a beam of solar energy that deals damage to enemies in an area. Enemies in the centre of the area will be stunned while those outside will be slowed.

Best Runes and Spells for Leona

Leona is a champion who is difficult to deal with, as any engagement she manages to successfully make can easily be capitalized on a kill, and the range of her skills gives her a bigger advantage in team fights. These are her recommended runes:

• Aftershock: Immobilizing an enemy champion grants additional armour and magic resistance, as well as unleashing a barrage of magic damage to nearby enemies.
• Weakness: Increases your team's damage to opponents slowed or with crowd control effects.
• Loyalty: You and your closest ally gain 2 armour and 5 bonus magic resistance.
• Pack Hunter: Grants bonus movement speed when near an ally. Additionally, unique takedowns will grant you and the closest ally bonus gold.

With Leona being used mainly in the bottom or Dragon lane as a support, her summoner spells allow her to aid allies to exterminate anyone, which goes along with her offensive capabilities.

• Flash: Allows you to have more entry and escape options in case your immobilization abilities are not on hand, or just if you want to make sure your opponent gets affected by your skill shots.
• Ignite: Use it as a tool to finish off enemies in case they want to escape with low health, as well as open a window of opportunity against enemies with lifesteal or healing abilities.

You can also use Exhaust for those tricky and slippy champions, since it reduces your enemies’ movement speed and their damage dealt for 2.5 seconds

Physical Defense: Ninja's Tabi with Locket or Gargoyle enchant, Randuin's Omen, Dead Man's Plate, Thornmail or Winter's Approach.
Magical Defense: Mercury Threads with Locket or Gargoyle enchant, Abyssal Mask and Adaptive Helm.

Leona is a champion who offers an unrivalled level of crowd control in the game, thanks to her stun and slow abilities, and her super defensive stats.

To use her properly, it is entirely up to you to have the initiative within fights to engage nearby enemies with your Zenith Blade, so you must always be aware of windows of opportunity and opponents' positioning to activate it at the right time.

Done successfully, it will be up to you to apply stun combos to nearby targets thanks to her entire arsenal of abilities, giving you infinite options to take charge of any fight and take the upper hand in close duels and in the line phase.
