ARK: Survival Evolved is by all accounts a challenging video game; anything from collecting resources to simply navigating the world could lead to your demise. Luckily, there is a way to make things a little bit easier on yourself, and that is by taming one of the powerful beasts that roam the land, and if you want to know how, then you're in luck.
This article will show you how to get a tamed Fenrir in ARK: Survival Evolved Fjordur. This beast has some unique skills that are worth having on your side, and taming one is worth the effort in the long run.
How to get Tamed Fenrir in ARK: Survival Evolved Fjordur
Taming any animal in ARK: Survival Evolved is a very different process than players might be used to when considering how it works in Pokemon or even Minecraft. Instead of capturing animals or bribing them with food, in ARK: Survival Evolved you tame animals by completing specific tasks.
In the case of Fenrir, the player needs to progress towards the end game and defeat a set of powerful bosses to tame it. Below are the steps you need to follow to tame a Fenrir.
Defeat 3 mini-bosses
The first step you need to perform is to find and slay Alpha versions of any animals you can find on the map. Doing so allows you to collect the Runestones that they drop, which will then be used to summon the mini-bosses.
You will need to collect 90 Runestones to summon three mini-bosses, as each of them requires 30 Runestones to summon. Once you have collected 90 of them, you can now summon and defeat Beyla, Steinbjorn, and the double boss fight with Haiti and Skoll, who can be found in their respective cave systems or realms around the map.
As you defeat each of the mini-bosses, they will drop Relics for you to pick up. These Relics will be used in the next part of your hunt by allowing you to summon the three Island bosses.
Defeat 3 Island-bosses
Once you have the Relics, you can now summon the three Islan Bosses, Broodmother, Megapithecus, and Dragon. Each of these bosses requires you have the Relics, but also a few other items so be sure to check you have the required boss items before attempting to summon them.
After you have summoned the Island Bosses and defeated them, you will be rewarded with a trophy for each one. These trophies will then allow you to summon Fenrir himself as a final boss.
Now that you have defeated Fenrir, you will be rewarded a Cryopod that allows you to summon a completely tamed Fenrir. It's worth noting that Fenrir cannot be bred, but it does come with its unique abilities, as listed below.
- Ice armor (Also deals damage and freezes nearby enemies)
- Has an ice-bite attack
- Gains pack bonus if players have more than one
