So what the heck is going on? First of all, relax. You're not running out of blood, and you're certainly not dying. Actually, the effects of the Blood Moon in V Rising are quite the opposite! So, continue reading to find out everything to know about this interesting phenomenon.
What Is A Blood Moon In V Rising? - Explained
Not to be confused with the Bloodmoon Armor set, the "Blood Moon" we're referring to here is a natural occurrence and status effect in V Rising. It grants a 10% Movement Speed buff and a 20% boost to all of your current Blood Type buffs.
When it's a Blood Moon, you'll notice a status icon above your HP bar, and the nighttime part of the clock will turn red (as illustrated in the image above).
While our competitors might have you fooled that the Blood Moon is a "random event" occurring between 6 pm and 9 am, they are only half right, which tells you a lot about their knowledge of the game. Instead, the Blood Moon (much like a full moon in real life) occurs cyclically every few day-night cycles in V Rising.
Importantly, the frequency and duration of the Blood Moon in V Rising are entirely server-dependent. For the most part, this "event" will occur randomly every 10-18 day-night cycles, but server administrators can select fixed periods, along with a custom Blood Moon buff strength.
What Can I Do During A Blood Moon In V Rising?
Now that you know what a Blood Moon is in V Rising, you probably wonder what you should do next. Given that you're effectively receiving a 10% boosted Movement Speed and a 20% buff to your character's overall power, it would be best to put this additional strength to good use.
That being said, a Blood Moon in V Rising is a great opportunity to take on some of the trickier V Blood Carriers. To further augment your power (and improve your chances of victory), you might also want to stack the Blood Moon effects with 100% Blood Type to effectively boost all the stats by 50%.
Assuming you're running with 100% Creature Blood, a Blood Moon will give you 63-75% increased Movement Speed, 15-37.5 increased Sun Resistance rating, 60-70% Damage Reduction, and 200% increased Health regeneration. You can clearly see the incentives, particularly when pairing the Blood Moon with the right Blood Type.
