The Plucky Squire: How To Defeat Alowynia The Elf Ranger

In The Plucky Squire, Jot will come across an opponent called Alowynia the Elf Ranger. To get the Elven Bow, which Jot needs to progress and complete the game, he'll need to defeat her. But how can Jot win against an opponent with such a strong weapon? Here's how to win in the fight against Alowynia the Elf Ranger in The Plucky Squire.

How To Defeat Alowynia the Elf Ranger

You'll find yourself standing right in front of the Alowynia the Elf Ranger card once you get to the top of all of the stacked items on the table. To begin the interaction with Alowynia, just interact with the card. This will prompt her to start a fight with you, leading Jot to fight back.

At first, you'll have to choose to Fight or Guard - but you won't be able to even put a dent in your opponent. In fact, even Guarding doesn't seem to shield you from too much damage. On the other hand, Alowynia will seem to be able to do massage damage with her Arrow attacks, rendering it hard to fight back. 

You're out of luck - until you get the help of Page, that is, who seems to appear out of nowhere. She'll give you a boost that not only ups your defense, but also makes your attacks stronger. She'll also even heal you up! Now, with the help of Page, you can really put up a fight.

You'll notice in the 'Fight' tab that you have some new attacks. They are more powerful than your previous ones, so use your new attacks to try to take down the opponent. They'll actually deal some substantial damage to Alowynia, unlike your old attacks.

However, there's a point where Page will point out that you really need to talk to Alowynia if you want to clear things up, as she seems to think you're really fighting on Humgrump's behalf. After this little interaction with Page, be sure to switch to 'Talk' instead of 'Fight' for your next move. Keep Talking - don't Fight - and listen to Alowynia's responses.

She'll eventually believe you and will stop fighting you.

Once you've wrapped things up with Alowynia the Elf Ranger, you'll earn the Elven Bow - which gives you new ways to fight and take down future opponents! This will prepare you for the boss battle just ahead, as Alowynia herself explains.
