How To Turn On The Sewers Generator In The Last Of Us Part 1?

This next generator occurs during the sixth chapter of The Last Of Us Part 1, located in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Joel and Ellie will have met brothers Henry and Sam at this juncture, but you'll control Joel in solving this generator puzzle.

Aside from the many collectibles in this chapter, the Sewers is perhaps the more horror-driven section of the game, with plenty of Infected swarming this area. This makes navigating it highly tricky, especially when attempting to turn on the generator in this location.

To solve this puzzle, face the sewer gate before plunging into the waters and diving underwater to find a steel pipe obstructing the mechanism. This pipe is on the left side, and once Joel has managed to remove it, Henry will open the gate as you swim across to the staircase before reaching the platform here.

Locate a yellow-painted ladder and climb up before looking to your left to find a wooden palette that Joel can throw into the water. You’ll need this as Ellie will sit atop the palette as you guide it across the room, where Ellie will navigate her way to the generator before turning it on.

This will see the sewer contraption move across the room, letting Henry and Sam cross to the other side as Sam cannot swim. Once everyone has reached the opposite side of the room, this unlocks the Waterlogged Trophy/Achievement; however, the danger is close by the group.
