Combat in The Thaumaturge can be tricky at times, especially against enemies with Traits you're unable to counter. But some enemies have attacks that can inflict certain status effects on protagonist Wiktor, such as Bleeding which takes a small amount of damage each turn.
The problem with Bleeding is that it can also stack, meaning a small cut can quickly drain your health in just a few turns. Below, we'll go over what you can do to mitigate the effects of Bleeding.
How To Stop Bleeding In The Thaumaturge
From what we can work out, there are two ways to cure Bleeding. The first is to use an ability that clears negative states, such as Upyr's Liberum Veto ability. The other way is to simply wait it out, though this isn't advised. Bleeding should only last for a few rounds, after which it will stop and you can carry on as normal. However, this doesn't always work out.
The Bleeding effect can stack up to six times, so if you've got two enemies attacking you with Bleeding-causing attacks, it can become a problem pretty quickly. In these cases, the best you can do is to try and take out the enemies as fast as possible.
You can use Salutors such as Upyr, who have healing abilities, to keep your health topped up enough to survive the fight. Make sure you're able to combat any Traits that an enemy might have, particularly if it increases their defence as it will take you longer to defeat them — and this is time that you don't have.
You can see your current rounds, and attacks or effects that last into upcoming rounds, on the bar at the top of the screen. This will allow you to not only anticipate enemy attacks, but know how long you'll need to hold out before Bleeding stops.
That's all for curing Bleeding in The Thaumaturge. Be sure to check out our other guides, such as how to complete The Mermaid City's Son questline.
