Dedicated fans of The Sims are always looking for more ways to customize their games, and thankfully EA and Maxis are all too happy to oblige. With plenty of Kits, Expansions, Game Packs, and more to utilize, a player's creativity in The Sims 4 is near endless.
But The Sims 4 has been in our lives for a long while now, having launched back in 2014. So when it comes to content, what more could we possibly have to look forward to? Well, as it turns out, quite a lot actually.

The Sims 4 Roadmap 2024: Content & Schedule
While EA doesn't typically announce the majority of new upcoming Sims content ahead of time, outside of major expansions, that doesn't mean things are thin on the ground. In fact, EA and Maxis drop free updates and Kits fairly frequently, and quickly.
In April, the studio launched two new Kits: the Party Essentials and Urban Homage. Back in February,we saw a free content update that added vitiligo to the Create-a-Sim feature, along side a collaboration with supermodel Winnie Harlow. In January, two new Kits were launched: The Castle Estate Kit and the Goth Galore Kit. Both of these made it into the game following a community vote.
Next Content Update
EA has yet to announce what the next content update will be for The Sims 4, whether that will be a new Expansion, Game Pack, Stuff Pack, or Kit. One great way to keep an eye on the future of The Sims, especially related to the smaller DLCs, is to check out the dedicated forum.
Here, players will sometimes be asked to poll for what they'd like to see added in future updates, and which Kits will be the next on the list.
In a recent discussion, players highlighted just some of the things they're hoping to see from The Sims 4 in 2024, which included: a pool table, spiral staircases, lawn mowing, sewing, a drum kit, and more. Given EA and Maxis' eagerness to take on community suggestions, there's a good chance that these new items and features could arrive sometime in the future.
Last Expansion
The last major expansion to be released for The Sims 4 was the Lovestruck Expansion Pack, which launched on 25 July, 2024. This DLC added in a new world: Ciudad Enamorada. The pack also features a new Cupid's Corner dating app, new Romance options, and plenty of additional items.

The Sims 5: Project Rene
Of course, what's on everyone's mind is more updates on the next installment in The Sims franchise, currently referred to as Project Rene. We still don't have a launch date for The Sims 5/Project Rene, however there's still plenty of discussion happening on the official Sims forum.
It's highly unlikely that we'll see Project Rene launch this year, but there's always a chance we could learn a little bit more as the year progresses.
