I'm a big fan of tackling my Sims' problems with real-world solutions, and if that means surrounding them with 20 pieces of Quartz to channel some good energy then so be it. Thankfully, a brand new Stuff Pack for The Sims 4 means I'm free, if not encouraged, to do just that.
The Sims 4 Crystal Creations Stuff Pack introduces the Gemology skill, which allows Sims to collect various crystals and metals and use them to sway aspects of their lives, from their mood, relationships, and even their careers. You can also try swamping your Sims' houses with crystals to brute-force some positive vibes (times are tough), just don't forget to charge them in the moonlight to uncover some unexpected properties.
This new Stuff Pack is also a great complement to a budding designer's already expansive toolkit in The Sims 4. The Gemology skill enables players to create their own jewellery using the crystals and metals they collect and adorn their Sims with these intricate statement pieces. Players can create their designs, and hone their skills, at the Gemology Table to fashion rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings.
The are 11 possible ways to cut gems, the success of which will depend on your Sim's Gemology level. On top of the gems and metals already in the game, three new crystals will be added in this Stuff Pack: Amber, Jade and Moonstone.
As Stuff Packs go, Crystal Creations gives players a little more to play with than just a few extra objects, thanks to the Gemology skill, and it's a great way to introduce a little bit of spirituality into your Sims' lives.
The Crystal Creations Stuff Pack arrives in The Sims 4 on February 29, 2024 on PC via EA app, Mac via Origin, and Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Players will need the base game in order to access this new pack once purchased.
